Chapter 4, Unnumbered Units (Part 1)

Dark Small Medium Large Original Scroll to Bottom

Shaking the soda bottle in his hand, Ouyang Zhuo could still see some raw rubber that had not been dissolved by the gasoline through the light green bottle. Inside the bottle, there was also a semi-solid substance of unknown origin. As Ouyang Zhuo gently shook it, that semi-solid substance twisted and changed continuously in the gasoline, resembling the colorful scraps of paper in a kaleidoscope, raising various bizarre shapes.

Ouyang Zhuo said with a grave expression: "What is terrifying is the gasoline personally mixed by Zhao Haiping"

Ouyang Zhuo and the captain each picked up a bottle and examined it closely. Both bottles were filled with a light yellow liquid, and even without bringing them close to their noses, they could detect a strong smell of gasoline, mixed with the distinctive scent of sulfuric acid.

Whether it is Ouyang Zhuo or the captain, they both understand that this is no longer a simple confrontation between police and criminals; they are facing a genuine mountain warfare situation

They can only wait for support in place after reporting to their superiors

Ouyang Zhuo and the captain exchanged a glance, and they saw the shock in each other's eyes. They moved closer together, and Ouyang Zhuo whispered to Tushu, "It seems like these are two homemade landmines"

A group of soldiers rushed forward, propping up several dry powder fire extinguishers. However, when the extinguishing agent was sprayed onto the gasoline, the flames not only failed to be extinguished but instead burned even more fiercely. One soldier grabbed a fire extinguisher that could rapidly produce carbon dioxide, intending to extinguish the flames by depriving them of oxygen. Just as he aimed the nozzle of the extinguisher at the flames, the fire unexpectedly surged up to more than four feet high under impossible circumstances. Another soldier seized a fire extinguisher capable of quickly generating carbon dioxide to extinguish the flames by cutting off their oxygen supply. As he directed the nozzle of the extinguisher at the fire, the flames astonishingly leapt up again to over four feet high in a seemingly impossible situation.

Two hours later, another armed police unit arrived to provide support, bringing with them six military dogs and two mine clearance experts. Upon seeing the landmines made from beer bottles, even the two mine clearance specialists shook their heads and smiled wryly. These devices contained only a small piece of copper at the bottle neck, and searching for them with the outdated mine detectors used by the armed police was less effective than utilizing the keen sense of smell of the military dogs.

A large group of soldiers surrounded the flames, trying to extinguish them with dry powder fire extinguishers and other equipment. However, the flames that splashed onto the ground only gradually extinguished after all the gasoline and raw rubber had burned out. Ouyang Zhuo and the captain exchanged glances in disbelief

At the neck of this soda bottle, a small piece of wax has been inserted, with a segment of what appears to be black gunpowder extracted from a bullet placed in the middle. At the very front of the soda bottle, there is a cylinder made of copper sheet. Ouyang Zhuo examined it under the sunlight for quite some time before realizing that inside this copper cylinder, which is wider at the bottom and narrower at the top, there is a glass bead threaded with silk.

Ouyang Zhuo looked at the group of criminal police officers under his command. For the first time during a pursuit of criminals, he chose to be patient. He could face death without fear, and he could risk his life against Zhao Haiping, but he did not dare to lead his brothers into danger

Duan Ning ran down the mountain with his pursuit team. There are no spare ambulances left now. After sending the injured onto the police car and watching them leave, Duan Ning took a piece of wood from his pocket and handed it to the captain.

The last six military dogs all perished at the hands of Zhao Haiping. A female police officer responsible for training the military dogs held back tears as she cradled a dog whose nose had been smashed in by a punch, and whose spine had been brutally broken in half. The dog lay helplessly in her arms, softly whimpering for a full half hour.

Ouyang Zhuo hid in a safe place and pulled the fishing line in his hand, causing the mouth of the soda bottle to suddenly spray a plume of white smoke. With a loud "boom," a fireball shot into the sky, and amidst the vibrant red flames dancing like celestial maidens scattering flowers, an area of four to five meters around was immediately engulfed in fire

Captain Dao: "The explosive power of this thing is not impressive, but its burning force and adhesion are rather insidious. Even solid gasoline bombs used on the battlefield aren't this exaggerated, are they?!"

Captain Dao said: "The lethality of bombs made with glass is inherently less than that of those made with metal containers. I observed that the explosives made from soda bottles have a blast radius of at most 1.5 meters"

Zhao Haiping used this inferior lipstick, which might only be worth five yuan, to apply on the fishing line, providing the simplest yet highly practical technical camouflage. By stretching this color, which is close to that of the soil, across the air, any moment of inattention could lead those armed police soldiers, who have yet to awaken to the true battlefield, to overlook it.

As they looked at the characters on the piece of bark, Ouyang Zhuo and the captain of the armed police felt their eyelids twitching uncontrollably. Duan Ning took a soda bottle and a beer bottle from the hands of a soldier named Yi and handed them to the captain, saying: "These were dug out from the minefield before our retreat"

With a sound of sweat brushing, it began to trickle down the lieutenant's forehead

The captain nodded and said, "Have you noticed that there is a thin layer of chemical powder between the glass bead and the copper ring? If I am not mistaken, this copper ring combined with the glass bead has already formed a simple ignition device"

The glass bead may have been removed from a necklace, with a hole in the center that is just right for threading a sturdy fishing line. Ouyang Zhu wrapped the fishing line in a piece of filter paper and gently brushed over it, revealing a layer of reddish-brown paste on the filter paper. Upon careful examination of its scent, it turned out to be inferior quality lipstick

"The explosive power is small; that is false. I see that Zhao Haiping still hasn't dealt us a fatal blow; he merely wants us to retreat in the face of difficulty and not force him into a desperate situation where he has to fight back. " Ouyang Zhuo gazed at the beer bottle in the captain's hand and said, "Now he is loaded with bullets. Just think about what kind of splatter effect would occur if he stuffed those bullets into these bottles? Such a landmine, m. hetushucomcom, would have a lethal radius of about thirty meters, right? He is also skilled in making directional explosive mines. If he packed in a dozen bullets, it would be akin to firing a large-caliber shotgun at our search team!"

The search and rescue team, led by two mine clearance experts, divided into two groups and advanced into the mountains

Someone carved a line of words on the bark with a short knife: This time they saved their lives, but next time you will collect their corpses

Zhao Haiping's addition of concentrated sulfuric acid to gasoline can, when cut off from external oxygen by a dry powder fire extinguisher or a fire extinguisher, serve as a self-sustaining oxidizer. Furthermore, the magnesium powder and raw rubber he added to the gasoline enhance the adhesion during the combustion of the gasoline

Ouyang Zhuoyang raised the soda bottle mine in his hand and said, "Shall we see its power?"

The captain also looked at his subordinates; they were all soldiers. Soldiers regard obedience to orders as their duty. When they donned this military uniform, they should have been prepared to sacrifice their lives for the country. However, he absolutely did not wish for his subordinates to be led around by the nose by an enemy that was not even on the same level, resulting in meaningless casualties under traps and landmines
