Section 3, Peeling

"Who made this decision?" Ye Feng finally asked his question, simple and direct

The three individuals in the car were discussing the issue of earning money with a sense of public morality, not even glancing back once. The vehicle twisted and turned, eventually entering an alley. They heard a doorbell ring at the entrance of a large courtyard, and after waiting for a while, a limping man hurriedly came out and opened the door.

He has never had much money, so he saves a bit, yet he seems to live more comfortably than others. Across the overpass is a housing rental market. Ye Feng thought to himself that he would most likely need to find a place farther away this time; otherwise, if Fang Zhujun saw him, it would be quite troublesome. Fortunately, this city is vast, and one can wander through it like a needle in the ocean, making it not too easy to be found.

The four of them were taken aback, turning around in unison to see a person in a poorly fitting suit and worn-out leather shoes had walked in. His expression was blank, with only the corners of his mouth sporting a pair of mustache-like tufts, and his face was somewhat dark.

"Nonsense, who do you think you are? Come here and meddle in my affairs." The short man walked over angrily, "I told you to get lost, did you hear me? I will count to three, one, two..."

The knife was bent in mid-air and landed in Ye Feng's hand. He casually threw it out, and it struck the tall man's leg, causing him to scream in agony and fall over.

The three of them passed by several overpasses, picked up a few similar children, and stuffed them into the car. Some of the children were missing an arm, some had a broken leg, and others were covered in pus, oozing green fluid, occasionally emitting a foul odor. Even though the two individuals frequently transported them, they couldn't help but cover their noses. "Old Li can't keep it cleaner," the tall one complained.

"It's negotiable," Ye Feng replied without even looking, kicking out with one foot. The driver was sent flying into the air, and with a loud "thud," he crashed solidly against the wall, sliding down like a lump of mud, silent and motionless.

It seems that in finding a new job, he will need to buy a new card. Ye Feng shook his head and let out a bitter smile, then tucked the money into his pocket. However, from the corner of his eye, he caught sight of someone approaching him slowly, a glint of cold light in their hand.

This statement is indeed more effective than anything else. The crippled man, with his remaining leg trembling, knelt down shivering and cried out, "Sir, I am just a cook." However, his voice was muffled and barely audible.

The one that crashed into me still hasn't figured things out, having already collided headfirst with a pillar, stars dancing before my eyes, flailing my arms and legs, and then I got kicked in the backside. A dog, having snatched up some feces, has already fallen to the ground.

A person hurriedly approached from ahead, holding a newspaper in hand, seemingly oblivious as he was about to bump into Ye Feng. Ye Feng sighed and took a step back, while the person behind him, the main assailant, had already drawn a blade, ready to strike. Ye Feng reached out and grasped the wrist of the pickpocket, saying, "Brother, I don't have many pairs of pants, just a few in total. Could you please leave me one intact?"

The tall figure was still there, holding onto a leg, howling like a ghost. Ye Feng walked over, pulled out the knife, and stabbed it in again, saying, "If you scream once more, I will stab you again"

"Can cleanliness be profitable?" the short man said coldly

The cripple felt a shiver, already aware that things were not good. He leaned on his crutch and was about to flee when he suddenly froze, for Ye Feng was already standing in front of him. A slap sent him spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood and two of his large teeth. "If you don't want your other leg to end up like those children's, draped over your neck, it would be best for you to sit down."

The tall one showed almost no hesitation, "The white peeled skin of the eastern city!"

The tall man seemed to have his throat gripped, his voice abruptly cut off. Watching the blood gushing from his leg, he could no longer endure and said, "Sir, just tell me what you want me to do, I only ask that you let me stop the bleeding first"

Another person, without hitting anyone while holding the newspaper, felt a tap on the shoulder. He exchanged a glance with the pickpocket, who understood his partner's intention. Just as he was about to struggle free, he suddenly exclaimed in pain and knelt down, beads of sweat the size of soybeans already rolling down his forehead, "Please spare me, sir!"

The housing rental market is adjacent to the talent market, with more students or workers engaging in similar actions, browsing the recruitment section of newspapers for a meager position while struggling to find opportunities

Ye Feng had already removed his glasses, altering his appearance slightly, and walked down slowly. Those eyes, which seemed to be severely myopic, were now blazing with fury

A cold voice came over, "You should eat a bit more while you can, because you may not be able to eat later!"

The two entered the van and instructed, "Drive quickly, there are a few more to pick up, it's really damn troublesome"

The child trembled all over, yet could not utter a single word

How is today? The driver, a man with a scarred face, turned back and asked

While he spoke sweetly, with just a glance, the driver had already circled behind Ye Feng, drawing out a knife and viciously lunging forward.

The three of them finally realized that this person was not to be trifled with. The tall one spoke with a slight tremor in his voice, "Which line are you on, boss? Let's discuss this amicably!"

Just prepare meals for five people. The tall man got out of the car, walked into the courtyard, and shouted loudly: "Today there is less money, and for those who do not work hard, there will be no meals provided."

Ye Feng drew the knife, not to stop the bleeding, but to let it flow. Unintentionally, he stabbed again, as if piercing through a radish or winter melon. "Do you have the right to bargain with me?"

A dilapidated medium-sized van sped over, and two individuals, one tall and one short, quickly got out. The night was dark, suitable for carrying out unsavory activities. The two hurriedly ascended the overpass and seized a child, causing several pedestrians to hastily hide aside. They carelessly tossed the child into the rear compartment of the van, as if discarding a bag of trash. The van had been modified, with all the rear seats removed, clearly to accommodate more children like this.

What are you saying? The pickpocket is thin and emaciated, yet dressed in a way that resembles a respectable person. In this day and age, pickpockets have evidently made significant improvements to their image, actively aligning themselves with white-collar workers. I initially thought this bespectacled fellow was dull and clumsy, and that the money in his pocket would be an easy target. To my surprise, my seemingly foolproof attempt was actually caught by him!

Ye Feng withdrew his hand and smiled. The crowd over there had already stirred up quite a commotion, all looking this way. Ye Feng brushed off his sleeves, leaving no trace behind, and walked forward with an air of nonchalance. Two pickpockets, both startled and delighted, quickly got up and soon disappeared into the crowd

"Three," Ye Feng said coldly, merely waving his hand. A sound of 'crack' echoed, followed by a piercing scream that shattered the night sky. The short man fainted on the spot, his arm twisted into a shape resembling a twisted doughnut.

Having concluded the communication, Ye Feng initially intended to discard the peculiar object. However, upon reconsideration, he decided to keep it in his pocket. He then reached for his mobile phone, removed the SIM card, and with a mere pinch of his fingers, it transformed into a spherical shape. With a flick, the sphere arced gracefully and accurately landed in the trash bin by the roadside

As he walked slowly onto the overpass, a child crawled over using both hands, a bowl of rice clenched in his mouth, containing only a few coins. The child's legs were already broken, resting on his shoulders, presenting a scene of indescribable misery. Yet, Ye Feng's eyes blazed with anger as he took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down

"Damn it, it's so filthy that anyone would just avoid it at first sight, and there's no money to be made from it either," the tall man cursed. "Next time, we should suggest this to the boss as well"

"Damn it," one person cursed, "not even enough for gas money. People nowadays are becoming increasingly lacking in public spirit. This kid isn't putting in any effort; if he goes back like this, he won't have anything to eat!"

Strolling down the street, Ye Feng felt no frustration or worry about unemployment. His highest record was securing five jobs in a month. Once, he was fired by a boss who nitpicked at everything, and another time, he dismissed a beautiful female boss who had been flirting with him. At times, it seemed that even if others hit him several times, he wouldn't react at all; yet there were moments when he could cause others to lose control completely. Once again, he was dismissed by a beautiful female boss who had been flirting with him, and it seemed that even if others hit him several times, he wouldn't react at all; yet there were moments when he could cause others to lose control completely.

Ye Feng sat there until it was dark, having even read the advertisements for treatments of psoriasis, sexually transmitted diseases, and syphilis twice. He finally waited for the person he had been expecting.

As Ye Feng passed by the little boy, he did not, like others, drop a coin. Instead, he glanced around, shook his head, walked to the roadside to buy a newspaper, and casually found a step to sit down.

The tall person, in pain, wanted to scream, suddenly recalling Ye Feng's words. Unable to cover the wound, they could only cover their mouth, looking at Ye Feng with fear, their eyes silently pleading.
