Chapter 2, Astonishing Encounters and Perils
In a moment of distraction, hurried footsteps echoed from the stairway. Mi Yu raised her head in response and said with a choked voice: "Here."
"Mi Yu?" An Yiruo was pulled back to her senses by the low voice of a man at her ear. She looked around in search of Mi Yu's figure, "Mi Yu?"
"I am her boyfriend." Xi Shuo-liang's voice was somewhat cold as he discreetly scrutinized the tall and upright Mu Yan, a hint of confusion flickering in his eyes
Is this praising her or boasting about oneself? An Yiruo retracted her hand and glared at Mi Yu, clearly displeased with her behavior that seemed to thrive on chaos.
The man carefully examined her identification and then professionally asked her a few questions. He then looked up at Mi Yu and said, "You! Driving without a license?" Mi Yu shrugged nonchalantly as he spoke in a low voice, "No driver's license, and driving under the influence!" Their eyes met, and he looked into her bright, sparkling eyes, saying, "This is the only time, it won't happen again. Don't let her drive, otherwise the car will be impounded directly." With a casual wave of his hand, he added, "Let her go!" His voice was deep and resonant, with a tone that was indifferent and detached. "This is the only time, it won't happen again. Don't let her drive, otherwise the car will be impounded directly." With a casual wave of his hand, he added, "Let her go!" His voice was deep and resonant, with a tone that was indifferent and detached.
An Yiruo felt a weakness throughout her body; she exerted great effort to prevent her legs from trembling. Standing about two meters away from the woman, when she turned her head, she saw the man slightly raise his chin, signaling her to do as the woman instructed.
Mi Yu忍着笑摇头, thinking that this time it was a big trouble. The police officer was clearly angry, but he couldn't help but admire An Yiruo immensely in his heart. This girl was gentle when she was not provoked, but when she was, she really had some strength. Indeed, she had character and was truly impressive.
"Has she woken up?" The special police uniform she was wearing had not yet been changed. Mu Yan looked at the handsome man in front of him, flashed his identification, and asked, "May I ask what your relationship is with Miss An?"
The afterglow of the setting sun is faint, illuminating the distinctly contoured face of the man. There is a tranquil quality to his expression; however, upon closer inspection, the clear brows and eyes suddenly darken, and a hint of danger subtly emanates from his sharp gaze
As Yi Ru reacted, she climbed up and embraced her, "An Yi Ru?"
It is unclear whether it was due to a remark made by Mi Yu, but the man's expression suddenly turned cold, his lips pressed into a thin line. He silently picked up the identification, gestured for his subordinates to put away their weapons, and when he spoke again, his voice was as cold as ice, "Is the fire finished?" His gaze fixed sternly on An Yiruo, he decisively and stubbornly uttered two words: "Identification!"
"It's hard to explain in one word." Mi Yu's voice was hoarse, and suddenly she cursed, "What a damn misfortune! If I had known this would happen, I should have stayed at home and not stepped outside, it's simply absurd." She wanted to know what was going on more than anyone else.
Confirming that An Yiruo is out of danger, Xi Shuo Liang let out a slight sigh of relief, "How are you?"
Ah! An Yiruo was startled by the sudden loud noise, breaking out in a cold sweat. Instinctively, she turned around and buried her face in the man's chest
Mu Yan pressed her lips together, standing proudly before Xi Shuo Liang, resembling a sovereign. After a moment of silence, she finally spoke, but it was directed at the subordinate behind her: "Take him away once he wakes up." She then turned and departed.
She buried her face in her palms and let out a long breath. The stakes seemed to be high; if the police failed to shoot the woman at the moment she bent down, the consequences would be unimaginable
The man pressed his thin lips tightly together, wrapped his arms around her and pulled her behind him, his tall body blocking her in front. With both hands gripping the gun, he shouted sternly: "Put down the gun"
Although An Yiruo does not have the height advantage over Mi Yu, her strength is not insignificant; when she strikes, it stings a bit on the face. However, in the moment her palm swings out, she realizes that if he wanted to, he could easily evade the blow.
The man furrowed his brow, his legs parallel to his shoulders, standing in a straddle stance, his hands firmly gripping the gun without a twitch, exchanging glances with his subordinates, signaling them not to act rashly
Call an ambulance. The man holstered his firearm, instructed his subordinate to make the call, and strode towards the woman in black who had been shot dead on the spot
"It seems that my arm is bruised." Upon seeing an acquaintance, Mi Yu's shoulders slumped as she weakly said, "I don't know if I've been hurt anywhere else."
An Yiruo took a deep breath and said with a hint of emotion, "Impulsiveness is the devil; this saying is by no means a joke." Once she calmed down, she felt a bit regretful. Although it was somewhat festive, it was clearly a misunderstanding. How could she have gotten so worked up? She had always been very composed. She pinched her own face hard as a form of punishment, exchanged a glance with Mi Yu, and finally couldn't hold back; both of them burst into laughter.
"Don't move!" The man exerted a slight force with his left arm, pulling her into his embrace, and smoothly rose to shift to the inner side of the vehicle. With his right hand firmly gripping the pistol, a loud "bang" was heard, and he saw a figure in front of him fall down.
In an instant, the body of the woman in black was suddenly exposed under the gun of the man in front. By the time she realized it, it was too late to evade. Instinctively, she curled her right index finger, and two bullets were instantly fired towards him.
Xi Shuo-liang saw her face was pale, clearly still in shock, and he took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders, choosing to remain silent
As fierce as Mi Yu was momentarily stunned, and as gentle as An Yiruo, when has there ever been such an intense reaction? It is truly unusual, there must be something going on. Once she regained her composure, she cheerfully whistled, "An Yiruo, you are too fierce, just like me"
The rice fish leaned against the wall, closed its eyes, and waved its hand to indicate that everything was fine
An Yiruo had only sustained abrasions on her arm and knee, perhaps due to the shock she experienced, compounded by her weakened immunity, resulting in a slight fever and a temporary state of unconsciousness. Xi Shuo-liang touched her forehead, furrowed his thick brows, and covered her with a blanket, keeping vigil by her bedside
"Letting go only leads to a dead end, does Captain Mu think I would be so foolish?" The woman narrowed her eyes slightly, her left hand gripping Mi Yu's wrist, while her right hand pressed the gun against the side of her neck. She coldly commanded, "If you don't want her to die, then put down all your guns."
The black leather pants, the fitted top of the same color, the woman's height was not much different from that of a meter-long fish, her gaze swept over the special police officers surrounding her, and she demanded: "Bring me the car keys"
"How about it?" Xi Shuo-liang took several large strides to her side, his breath unsteady and his gaze anxious
After approximately two seconds of stunned silence, the swift and agile special police officers had deftly drawn their sidearms, the gun muzzles precisely aimed at An Yiruo, poised and ready to fire
Hearing the laughter coming from behind, the man furrowed his brows, rubbed his face, and sighed helplessly. If it weren't for their previous encounter that made him understand why she was so furious, he could have easily detained her based solely on her earlier act of violence. Woman
Sitting outside the emergency room, Mi Yu trembled as she finished the call, her eyes wide open and her expression dazed. Everything had happened too quickly, and now she was beginning to feel fear. Given the circumstances at the time, their actions had indeed been too reckless. The tacit understanding with An Yiruo had been cultivated over many years, but if the police's marksmanship had deviated even slightly at that moment, she would have died at the hands of that woman
She felt a bit faint at the sight of blood and fainted
In the quiet dusk, an occasional vehicle passed by on the highway. The subordinates who were conducting checks on passing vehicles for public service heard the sound from this side, and their gazes swiftly turned, fixating on An Yiruo and their superior.
An Yiruo and Mi Yu exchanged a glance for five seconds, then she gently tossed the key. Mi Yu understood the cue and pretended to reach for it, but in an instant, he quickly bent down.
With a sharp crack, the man received a solid slap across the face
Miss An and her friend are involved in a drug trafficking case
The atmosphere momentarily became stagnant
An Yiruo had never encountered such a thrilling moment; her throat began to tighten with anxiety. She glanced around, as if understanding something, and gently nodded before slowly making her way towards the rice fish
"If she has not yet awakened, her friends are also frightened. Please wait until dawn to investigate the case and take statements." Xi Shuo-liang stood at the door of the ward, his expression cold, and his tone subtly conveyed dissatisfaction, "Your people have been guarding here all this time; are you still worried that they will run away?"
The man's brain was working rapidly, he exchanged a glance with Mi Yu while pressing his lips together, then turned to look at An Yiruo, a look of determination flashing in his eyes
An Yiruo took the car keys from Mi Yu's hand and, under the watchful eyes of the special police, walked proudly towards the car. However, this pride did not last for two minutes before the situation took a sudden turn.
Just as An Yiruo's hand was about to touch the car door handle, a black sedan whizzed past her. Before she could react, she was suddenly pushed to the ground by a strong force and was rolled aside in the embrace. Immediately, the sharp sound of gunfire rang out, muffled yet piercing.
Suddenly, chaos erupted all around; the scene was quickly surrounded by layers of barricades. When the ambulance arrived, Mi Yu nervously held onto An Yiruo's hand, refusing to let go, with tears in his eyes.
An Yiruo stood behind the man known as Captain Mu, her gaze fixed unwaveringly on the slightly annoyed expression of Mi Yu, as she trembled and reached into her pocket to feel the bunch of keys.
With a loud bang, An Yiruo and Mi Yu both fell to the ground at the same time. In the next second, the woman in black also collapsed straight down, with a stream of fresh blood gushing from her chest
"I just had one cup," Mi Yu exclaimed, her eyes widening as she looked at the man's tall and upright figure, unconsciously raising her voice. "This guy is just too cool." She nudged An Yiruo with her elbow and began to press for answers: "Come clean and you’ll be treated leniently; resist and you’ll face severe consequences. What’s going on between you two?" Then she elongated her tone in complaint, "This is a police matter, Miss An! If they decide to pursue it, we could end up in jail tonight, and our dad wouldn’t be able to do anything about it."
What happened? How did you both end up outside the city?
In the early hours of the morning, Mi Yu was awakened by the sudden sound of conversation in the corridor. She rubbed her eyes, ready to scold, but Xi Shuo Liang had already gotten up and walked out.
An Yiruo saw the splash of fresh blood, retched twice, felt a darkness before her eyes, and fainted.
An Yiruo remained unperturbed, leisurely taking out her driver's license, too indifferent to engage in idle chatter with him
"If so, give it to me." Mi Yu finally spoke, slightly tilting her head as she addressed the woman behind her: "You don't intend to drive yourself, do you?"
The woman pondered for a moment, her right hand moved slightly, bringing the gun's muzzle closer to her neck, and threatened, "Be honest, don't play tricks." As she spoke, she slowly released the grip on the mackerel that was pinned behind her back.
The man pinned An Yiruo to the ground, his sharp, eagle-like gaze sweeping the surroundings as he quickly searched for ambush points. At the same time, he commanded in a low voice, "Do not pursue, everyone stay put. Inform Team Two to set up a blockade at the intersection ahead, license plate 6645."
"Don't move!" A flicker of hesitation passed through the eyes of the woman in black as she positioned herself in front of Mi Yu, and shouted at An Yiruo, "Throw the car keys over here."
Is there any injury?
