Chapter 7, the peaks of Luofu, all in view
"So you wanted to thank me, not kill me?" The young man was taken aback for a moment, then quickly shook his head and said, "No need to thank me. You lost a head; is that serious? Are those fruits yours? I’m not trying to steal them, I just haven’t seen them before and was curious to pick one and take a look." "Hiss, hiss," the young man said, only to remember that this creature could not understand human speech. Moreover, upon hearing his words, the creature began to gesture, which made the young man find it amusing, and he couldn't help but laugh.
"Now I must thank you instead!" The young man said joyfully, imitating the monster with a bow: "By giving me this thing to eat, I might be able to reach the top of the mountain today."
The shattered rocks tumble down with great force
When will I possess such power, so that I can wield the sword's light like those individuals, no longer having to stand on the ground and look up in admiration
At first, the young boy was worried that he might not be able to hold on and would fall down the mountain. However, the more he climbed, the easier it felt, as if he had an inexhaustible strength in his hands and feet. The boy climbed faster and faster, eventually moving up like a spider ascending its own silk, with a speed that was several times faster than before.
At this moment, the heavy rain had subsided, and the iron chain was somewhat slippery. However, the young man, feeling a surge of strength from the air, thought it best to climb the peak quickly before this strength vanished. Thus, after watching the monster disappear, he resumed his ascent along the iron chain.
However, that sword light seemed capable of slicing through space itself, directly cutting through the flames. In an instant, one of the heads of the two-headed monster was sent flying.
"What is the use of this thing?" the boy asked again. The monster gestured repeatedly, but he still could not discern its meaning. Previously, Kong and *Tushu Tong* had tricked him into swallowing the Mouchazhu, so the boy was now quite hesitant. However, seeing the monster gesturing earnestly, he hesitated for a moment before placing the entire green little grass into his mouth. The leaves of the grass were exceptionally bitter and had an indescribable fishy and foul odor. At first, he felt nothing as he swallowed it, but after a moment, a warm current suddenly surged from his lower abdomen, rushing like fire through his liver, gallbladder, heart, and throat, finally bursting forth at the top of his head with a loud sound. The boy could not help but let out a cry, and a stream of white hot air unexpectedly burst from his mouth.
Under the series of intense actions, the young man was already on the verge of collapse. With the addition of this new injury, he felt increasingly dizzy, his legs weakened, and he fell to the ground. The wounds all over his body were pulled, causing him to involuntarily let out a muffled groan.
I have finally made it up! In that moment, the youth's heart was filled with indescribable emotions, his feelings stirred and uncontrollable.
The monster seemed to understand his words, its trembling gradually ceased, yet its gaze remained filled with fear and terror
In a fit of anger, Yuan Tianyi sent the flying sword directly through the cave's ceiling. The ceiling of the cave was made of hard rock, several zhang thick, yet his sword light pierced through it as effortlessly as cutting tofu, instantly breaking through the top and soaring like a dragon in the wind and rain. The young man, witnessing this, felt a chill run down his spine, thinking that if the flying sword were to slice through, even if he were made of iron, he would surely be cleaved in two. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his chest; looking down, he discovered that he was bleeding profusely. It turned out that even though Yuan Tianyi had instantly retracted the flying sword, the sword's aura had already left a shallow wound on his chest.
Upon hearing the boy mention the mountaintop, the monster seemed to exhibit a sense of fear, retreating slightly. The boy hurriedly waved his hand and said, "Do not be afraid; he is a good person. He only harmed you because he feared you would harm me."
Yet the young man seemed to have forgotten that the monster was not far from him; his eyes were fixed unwaveringly on the faint flying sword.
"Is this your home? Could you let me stay for one night? Because I really don't have the strength to climb down right now"
With a mere flash of the sword, that terrifying monster had its head severed; this is the essence of power
The young boy was examining the small, emerald-green grass that the monster had handed him when he noticed the monster gesturing repeatedly, bringing its hands to its mouth. The boy, somewhat astonished, asked, "Do you want me to eat this thing?"
The boy and the monster engaged in a conversation that was as incomprehensible as a chicken talking to a duck, leaving them uncertain whether the monster understood anything at all. The boy's strength had somewhat returned, and just as he sat up from the ground, the monster suddenly extended its hand, presenting a small green blade of grass to the boy.
The young man gazed at the sword light, his heart filled with shock. That sword light, however, had already spiraled down like a fleeting glimmer, striking towards the monster.
Fool!
Under the faint glow, the young man saw that the monster was covered in dark green blood, making it appear even more terrifying. However, the eye of the remaining head was filled with fear and a pleading expression, with its hands curled against its chest, repeatedly bowing. The young man felt that this fearsome monster resembled a child who had done something wrong and was begging for forgiveness, evoking a deep sense of pity. Having grown up in solitude, he was even more easily stirred by compassion. As he saw the faint sword light about to strike down, he instinctively positioned himself in front of the monster.
The creature hissed as it gestured with the book, still failing to convey its message, yet it was evident that it appeared quite pleased and happy.
As if entering a void
Do you live here
What is this? The young boy saw that this green little grass did not appear to be remarkable; it simply had small, round bulb-like rhizomes, and the roots were neatly arranged, as if it had been carefully uprooted.
The monster hissed, gesturing with its hands for a while, but it seemed to be somewhat afraid in the end. Cautiously, it picked the dark fruit from the bush and placed it in its mouth. No matter how the young man explained to it, the monster continued to bow repeatedly to him before retreating from the cave, climbing down along the iron chain and disappearing from the young man's sight
Old Zhao Nan's wrinkles smoothed out, revealing a knowing smile. "Master, distinguishing good from evil not by beauty or background, but with a heart full of kindness, is something that cannot be taught. Moreover, this is precisely what sets you apart from those outside."
The boy's smile made the monster feel somewhat awkward as it curled its hands and couldn't help but tug at the few remaining white hairs on its head. This action appeared even more amusing, prompting the boy to burst into laughter once again. The monster also grinned, and for a moment, it no longer seemed ugly or terrifying in the boy's eyes
The peaks of Mount Luofu are fully visible!
"I never expected that this insignificant mountain salamander would also know how to be grateful and repay kindness." Yuan Tianyi did not respond to Lao Zhaonan, merely letting out a cold snort, as the prism that had allowed him to see every detail within the cave suddenly vanished without a trace
The flying sword of Yuan Tianyi was incredibly swift; the moment the young man arrived before the monster, the sword light had already reached his chest. Even though the flying sword was in sync with Yuan Tianyi's mind and he managed to retract it in time, it nearly cleaved the young man in two. "It wants to kill you, yet you wish to save it. In that case, do as you please!" In a fit of rage, Yuan Tianyi directly sheathed the flying sword, deciding to disregard the young man's life or death.
A danger akin to a natural disaster
"Hmm?" Upon seeing the monster take out this item through the spectroscope, Yuan Tianyi was momentarily taken aback. A glimmer of light also flashed in the old Zhao Nan's amber-colored eyes: "Zhan Xike Zha Grass?"
The monster stared at him blankly for a moment, then suddenly nodded repeatedly and bowed to him.
In an instant, the deep, knife-like wrinkles on the monster's face seemed to crack open. "Whoosh!" Both heads simultaneously opened their mouths, unleashing a burst of brilliant flames. These two jets of fire were fiercer and more ferocious than the one the monster had just spewed forth, as if the very air within the cave was about to ignite.
Upon hearing the words of the youth, the monster hissed and nodded repeatedly.
Suddenly, the young man saw a chain fastened to a cylindrical stone. With a leap, he found himself standing at the summit of the mountain!
Although this monster has had one head severed, it seems to be unharmed, and the blood from the wound has already stopped flowing. The remaining head, with its two fiery red eyes, spins incessantly like fireballs, its mouth agape, baring its teeth, giving off a rather ferocious appearance. "What, are you going to kill me? If you were to kill me now, I wouldn't have the strength to resist at all; if you want to kill me, then go ahead," the boy lying on the ground said with a weak smile, observing the monster's demeanor.
Seeing the monster appear so pitiful, the young man felt a surge of compassion and could not help but speak to comfort it, saying, "Do not be afraid; he is a rare figure in this world. If he says he will not kill you, he will absolutely not harm you again." The young man held great respect for Yuan Tianyi, and before being accepted as his disciple, he did not dare to refer to Yuan Tianyi as his master, instead using the pronoun "he" to replace it.
Yuan Tianyi remained silent, slowly raising his head to gaze at the sky. Amidst the misty rain, he perceived the subtle changes in the essence of the world that few could see, yet he still could not discern the causes and effects of this world
Blood gushed forth, and the monster's blood was surprisingly dark green! The creature howled in agony, its crocodile-like tail striking the ground, sending rocks flying in all directions
"I wonder if I saved this monster, will it still want to kill me?" Such thoughts flashed through the young man's mind. When he turned to look at the monster again, he found that it seemed to be frightened by the sword light of Yuan Tianyi, shrinking into a corner of the cave, its body curled up, trembling uncontrollably.
As the sword light penetrated through the cave entrance, the monster felt a suffocating sensation as if its throat were being slit
The young man was in excruciating pain from wounds all over his body, with blood flowing incessantly from his chest. He no longer paid any attention to the monster, tearing apart his already tattered clothes to begin bandaging his injuries. Once the bleeding finally stopped, he found himself utterly drained of strength and collapsed onto the ground. After lying there for about the time it takes to burn a few incense sticks, he heard a rustling sound, realizing that the monster had come to his side.
The youth was both astonished and curious, feeling as if his entire body was immersed in a warm spring, enveloped in a cozy warmth. After a short while, he felt invigorated and could not help but jump up from the ground. To his surprise, he leaped over a yard high, and when he landed firmly on the ground, he noticed that although there were some wounds on his body bleeding, he felt an unprecedented strength coursing through him. "What is this? How can it be so miraculous!" The youth was filled with joy and surprise, stretching his arms and legs, unable to suppress his exclamation.
