Chapter 7: Food Crisis (Part 1)
Zhao Jingye and Kang Songde exchanged a glance, their lips twitching in a smile, mocking you for being arrogant; now you've met your match.
His words caught the attention of five or six people, but before they could say anything, Cheng Chen's furious reprimand erupted, "Who would eat your filthy stuff? Save it to feed the dogs"
"You really lack grace, only caring about yourself while eating. Aren't you supposed to be companions?" A short-haired flight attendant sitting next to Zhao Jingye couldn't help but mock Tang Zheng, her expression filled with disdain, while also attempting to tarnish his reputation by deliberately equating him with a prisoner
The other flight attendants all frowned, affected by this statement. Their previous slight goodwill towards Tang Zheng had completely vanished. This man might possess great strength, but he is too selfish
"Hey, you all seem quite cheerful. Why don't you share some good news with me?" shouted the bald man at the top of his lungs
"Are you trying to take advantage of us? Let me guess, you want us to trade our bodies for cans, right? Heh, we are not that cheap." Xu Lu looked at Tang Zheng with a face full of disdain, holding onto Zhao Jingye's arm, and proudly said, "Jingye will find food for us."
"Hello, how does the beef canned food taste?" The bald man stared at the beef canned food and swallowed hard.
Hey, are you doing this on purpose? Pretending to be hetushu.com, what nonsense is that? The bald man was displeased; if it weren't for his slight apprehension towards Tang Zheng, he would have already acted to snatch it away if it were someone else holding a can. Not to mention, he also had a Type 95 assault rifle in his hand
It is entirely a case of unnecessary worry. Zombies have appeared, and the U.S. government must be overwhelmed and unable to investigate our responsibilities, so rest assured. The high school student patted his chest confidently, appearing like an expert. However, we must be cautious of the SWAT team; they may have already infiltrated this hotel, and we cannot be certain that all Americans will turn into zombies.
This statement left everyone stunned; all present were kind and law-abiding citizens who had never engaged in such outrageous behavior, and thus they momentarily failed to react
The sound of scratching at the door immediately intensified, clearly indicating that the three zombies had heard the commotion inside the room and were exerting more force. This once again reminded everyone of their current dire situation, causing them to fall silent with grim expressions.
The high school student immediately turned red in the face, scratched his head, and was at a loss for what to do. The other flight attendants also chuckled softly, which alleviated the heavy atmosphere in the room significantly
"Zeng Xue, you might have wronged them; the canned food could be spoiled, and they simply do not want their companions to suffer from diarrhea after finishing it." This was said by Xu Lu, the flight attendant who had always admired Zhao Jingye. Her words were clearly sarcastic, almost as if she wanted to engrave the word 'stingy' on Tang Zheng's face.
"Are you coming to the restroom with us?" Li Xinlan laughed. This woman, nearly thirty years old, had no malice; she merely wanted to tease him a little. "I wouldn't mind, but I'm afraid you might not have the courage."
It is now June 2020. If you can survive and return, you could easily give the U.S. government a call to remind them. Tang Zheng opened his travel bag and took out a can of beef, preparing to replenish his energy. Although it was noon, it was evening in the original world, so he had not yet had dinner. Moreover, the recent exertion had consumed quite a bit of his strength, and he felt a bit hungry. Of course, the most important thing was that he planned to search for the kitchen of the Oasis Hotel. Without sufficient energy, he would be unable to cope with the impending dangers.
This guy is a monster, terrifyingly calm. Almost everyone has defined Tang Zheng in this way. In such a strange environment, he still has the presence of mind to pay attention to the content of the trailer. Should we say he is thick-skinned, or is he meticulous to the point of being overly sensitive?
Under the gaze of fifteen pairs of eyes and the scrutiny of the illustrated book, Tang Zheng remained calm and composed. For a moment, the entire room was enveloped in silence, with only the sound of him opening a can.
High school students also took the opportunity to make sarcastic remarks, orchestrating a scene with Tang Zheng. At the same time, they patted their chests in assurance that they would definitely bring back food, earning unanimous praise from the flight attendants. He was even more excited after receiving a captivating glance from Li Xinlan, to the point where he could hardly contain himself and nearly broke into song.
Well, I would like to ask a question. Bai Guo, unable to endure the silence, raised his right hand in a questioning gesture and took the initiative to open the topic, "Hijacking a bus, attacking a hotel, although no one was killed, can it still be considered a terrorist attack? What will happen when we go back? Will we be sentenced?"
Indeed, and did you see that he actually mingled with two prisoners? That old Lin is somewhat honest, but the bald man is certainly not a good person; his gaze is as if he wants to strip someone of their clothes, it's utterly disgusting. Cheng Chen hesitated for a moment but ultimately spoke out about the bald man groping her in the elevator. She finally warned, "Everyone should be cautious, never act alone, as it gives the bald man an opportunity. From now on, no matter what we do, there should be at least three people together."
"Do you want to eat?" Tang Zheng suddenly raised his head and said expressionlessly, "I still have two cans."
Tang Zheng could not help but frown, puzzled as to why the flight attendant reacted so strongly. He was unaware that Cheng Chen attributed half of her resentment towards the bald man who had touched her bottom to him, simply because he was sitting next to Wu Xudong.
"Indeed, one feels like an outsider both inside and outside." Wu Xudong also felt a bit dissatisfied, but having lived in prison for a long time, he viewed these matters with indifference, though the warmth in his gaze towards Tang Zheng had diminished significantly
"Trash, scum." Zeng Xue murmured seemingly softly, yet her voice was loud enough for everyone to hear, as if this was the only way to vent the resentment in her heart
The advertisement screens set up on the street just now played the trailer for "Pirates of the Caribbean 8," which will be grandly released on Christmas 2020. By the way, you can turn on the television; the power is still on. Tang Zheng opened the folding knife of the goddess of revenge and directly inserted it into the can, cutting a U-shaped notch. He enjoyed experiencing the sharpness of the folding knife in this way
"I am here, so don't worry, I will be with you." Upon hearing this suggestion, the high school student immediately volunteered.
"Even if nothing has changed, they probably don't have the time to pay attention to us, right?" Pang Meiqin felt the patterns on the metal box, stole a glance at Tang Zheng, who was sitting ten meters away on the sofa with his eyes closed, and then lowered her voice, expressing her dissatisfaction, "But having Americans with guns and *maps* around makes me feel unsafe. That Tang Zheng, really, why did he have to bring them here?"
"Not bad." Tang Zheng smacked his lips, completely ignoring the hopeful gaze of the bald man, which made Lin Weiguo, who was standing nearby, unable to suppress a smile. He had long realized that this guy was playing tricks on Wu Xudong.
Qin Yan scrutinized Tang Zheng, feeling that he was not the kind of person and must have other intentions
The high school student, feeling somewhat indignant, stood up and brushed off the nonexistent dust from his pants. He walked over to the coffee table, picked up the remote control, and with a click, turned on the television. He rapidly switched through more than ten channels, and a small portion of the content being aired was already sufficient to prove that Tang Zheng's words were not unfounded
"How can you be so sure?" Cheng Chen asked, her gaze briefly shifting to the can of beef. In fact, it was not just her; everyone had either intentionally or unintentionally glanced at the can of beef in Tang Zheng's hand, and one could even hear the faint sound of swallowing. This was inevitable, as it had been quite a while since everyone had eaten lunch.
"Do you think the Los Angeles of today is the same as the Los Angeles of our time? Will the zombie virus here infect the entire world?" A flight attendant from Zhao Jingye's side suddenly raised a question, leaving everyone stunned. To be honest, up until now, everyone had only been considering their own safety and had not thought at all about the spread of the zombies.
