Chapter 5

Dark Small Medium Large Original Scroll to Bottom

That sound of "hm" was still emitted from the nasal breath, showing not the slightest hint of surprise

She howled and simply lay down on the ground, playing dead: "You have shaken me to the point of death."

As Yao Huan walked into the Emperor's courtyard with its tail in tow, the Emperor was watering the little orchid. His long fingers curled around the lotus leaf, on which glistening water droplets were rolling down one by one, all being fed to the little orchid.

Yao Huan, disregarding her pride, wrapped her tail around the Emperor's thigh, tightly clinging to him, her entire dragon form instantly coiling around him: "Emperor, please don't ignore me. You've already lifted me up... Do you not want to take responsibility?"

In the past, whenever she got too close, the Emperor would always flick his fingers to push her away a little

By the time she emerged from the spring water again, three days had already passed

Yao Huan had always thought that she would never grow up, and even if it was just a few inches in height, she was overjoyed. ... As she spun around joyfully like a top, a thought suddenly flashed through Yao Huan's mind ...

Yao Huan cautiously held onto his tail, his expression solemn: "I have something to ask the Emperor."

Yao Huan furrowed her brow and gently poked him with her paw, then quickly withdrew it, pretending to examine the little orchid nonchalantly.

When they first met, her relationship with Wu Jing was not very friendly; she even menacingly forced Wu Jing to give her a speaking notebook. Wu Jing had been tempered in Chang'an for a long time, and she possessed a worldly aura that this forest spirit did not have.

Then the little orchid shook its leaves and stretched lazily with a full spirit

The Mist Mirror, having received the decree of the Emperor, has been guarding the cave since that night. Just as it was feeling utterly bored, it caught sight of the surface of the tranquil spring water shimmering with scales. In the next moment, the Joyful Leap leapt out of the water, splashing the Mist Mirror with water all over.

The Emperor paused for a moment, gently flicked the lotus leaf between his fingers, and turned back while cradling the small orchid.

The temptation of growing up is too strong; what use is there in maintaining face

Yao Huan greatly enjoyed this atmosphere and was also fond of the stories told by Wu Jing. At that time, she would lie beside this unremarkable stone, remaining completely still for an entire day.

Yao Huan wiggled her tail and moved closer to the Emperor.

Although Yao Huan is not clever, he is not foolish either

He casually set up a barrier to block her. After she collided with the barrier in a daze and sat down on the ground, looking bewildered with her brows slightly furrowed, she was about to speak when she seriously gestured with her paw and asked him with a conflicted expression: "How about you share half with me?"

A small luminous pearl, naturally the Emperor would not take notice of it

Her clever expression indeed has a certain humorous charm

As she hurriedly crawled out of the spring water, she wagged her tail and was surprised to find... that she seemed to have grown a little

Now, the cultivation of Mist Mirror can quickly transform into a human form, yet she still remains as she was when first encountered.

Oh, there is still no response

Emperor: "... ..."

Wu Jing had never seen such an expression of joy; she was always playful and frivolous. At that moment, she was quite taken aback and quickly replied, "Then you should go quickly; I will wait for you here"

She hasn't grown at all for such a long time, but after encountering a fierce beast and nearly facing danger, she actually grew. There must be some hidden reason behind this. She is very fond of the spiritual energy that the Emperor used to restore her primordial spirit, and she almost immediately thought of the reason.

The foggy mirror wiped away the droplets of water clinging to it, casting a fierce glare at Yao Huan. Yet that gaze held no malice whatsoever, appearing rather to be a display of bravado.

That sense of confusion was transmitted to Yao Huan, who looked at her reflection in the misty mirror and, puzzled, lowered her head to examine herself. Upon doing so, she was so frightened that she took a step back. However, she forgot that she was in the clear spring water, not on solid ground. As a result, when she stepped back, the entire dragon capsized, rolling into the water like a turned-over scallion.

As soon as Yao Huan saw him stop, he quickly scrambled up from the ground, darted in front of him, straightened his tail, and gestured with his paw: "Look, have I grown taller?"

Is it not close enough

She leaned forward with a flushed face, wagged her tail, and softly called out: "Emperor."

Before coming, she was somewhat uncertain, but seeing that the nearly dissipated spirit of the blue orchid had gathered its spirit back, she immediately became certain. Who else could achieve this besides the Emperor?

After several attempts, the Emperor, growing impatient, raised his hand and swept, tossing the mischievous little dragon out of the courtyard. Just when he thought this little troublemaker would finally give up, she clung back on like an arrow released from a bow.

The Emperor looked her up and down, nodding: "Hmm."

Yao Huan's eyes nearly bulged out; this little orchid, which had clearly appeared lifeless in her care, transformed into something akin to an immortal herb in the hands of the Emperor...

The mountain spirits and wild creatures, accustomed to being bullied by the surrounding rascals, looked utterly astonished

She and Mist Mirror have been good friends for a very long time. They met when Mist Mirror did not yet have a gender.

Could it be that her few inches of height increase are due to the Emperor constantly lifting her, inadvertently stretching her out...?

But as she stared, the expression in her eyes began to turn bewildered

Yao Huan was not angry when pushed away, immediately entangling back, stamping her paws and acting cute: "Just once, just once."

She pouted, somewhat dissatisfied with his reaction. However, she had something to ask the Emperor, so she naturally did not dare to lose her temper. She wagged her tail, pointed at his fingers holding the stone jar, and somewhat ingratiatingly leaned her head towards him: "Emperor, could you poke my forehead a few more times?"

However, the Emperor clearly did not sense the surging expectations in her heart and disdainfully pushed her head away, saying: "Get lost"

The Emperor, who was tending to the small orchid, cast a fleeting glance at Yao Huan, remaining unmoved.

Mist Mirror was originally happy for her, but at this moment, the lively and swirling Yao Huan suddenly stopped with a serious expression. A sense of unease subtly arose in her heart, and she couldn't help but feel a jolt: "Yao Huan, are you feeling unwell?"

Yao Huan has not grown for a long time; her figure has consistently maintained a dragon-like shape, neither growing taller nor maturing. It is as if time has come to a standstill for her, whether it be years, decades, or even centuries, she seems to remain unchanged, without any variation.

The Emperor paused his steps as he walked into the room, carefully savoring the four words "sā shǒu rén huán" that had escaped her lips, feeling a sense of helplessness akin to that of a teacher unable to educate a wayward student

The clear spring water in this forest is full of spiritual energy. Even when not taking a bath, it is customary for her to dip the tip of her tail in the spring water. This time, her primordial spirit has sustained some injuries. Although the Emperor has assisted her in healing, the feeling of fatigue is inescapable.

Yao Huan watched the Emperor's figure as he turned away with a flick of his sleeve, standing still for quite a while while holding her own tail, before finally putting the pearl away. Then, she joyfully dove into her clear spring water.

She recklessly accused him as if pouring out beans, and as soon as her words fell, she was overwhelmed by the aura emanating from the Emperor.

The residence of the Emperor and the cave of the Joyful are in close proximity to each other
