Sisters' Flower
The shadows of flowers intertwine. As the rich fragrance spreads in all directions, my roots connect with yours, astonishing passersby as the blossoms exude their scent. Beneath the great tree by the lake, from then on we are worlds apart, sharing the morning dew, opening the * picture * book to reveal two flowers. When spring is bright and beautiful, I cherish and gather them, asking you to return to our lakeside, drifting across the horizon. Regardless of the thousands of mountains and rivers we traverse, we share the afterglow of the sunset, where the fragrance of the * picture * book converges. No matter how far apart we are, we lean on each other, and I ask the wind to carry my thoughts to you, to drink the clear spring water together, my sister who has married far away, my leaves intertwine with yours, expressing my longing. This poem is from "The Record of the Fire and the Wanderer," Part Two, Volume One, Chapter Fifteen. The runaway Marquis Dean, Ice Blue, unexpectedly encounters Princess Luo Ying and the sisters Zi Yue and Zi Yun. Zi Yue saves Ice Blue's life from a ghoul and temporarily keeps him in her small cottage to recuperate. On a beautiful evening, Zi Yue, along with her sister and Luo Ying, sings this song on the beach. The words overflow with the deep affection of sisterly bonds, and also plant the seeds of friendship between the initially hostile Zi Yun and Luo Ying, allowing the flower of friendship to bloom with warmth in a time of turmoil. When the flowers bloom side by side,
The shadows of flowers intertwine
When the rich fragrance spreads in all directions
My roots are connected to yours
Passersby were astonished
Fragrance blooms.
Under the large tree by the lake
From now on, we are worlds apart
To drink the sweet dew of the morning
Open the book and place two flowers on it
When the spring sunlight is bright
Compassionately gathering
Please return to our lakeside
Wandering far and wide
Regardless of traversing thousands of mountains and rivers
Together we share the afterglow of the setting sun, along with illustrations and books
The convergence of aromas
No matter the distance of thousands or tens of thousands of miles
leaning on each other
I ask the wind to carry my longing from the heart
Drink from the clear spring with me
Sisters who marry far away in a foreign land
My leaves are with you.
