Chapter 5: DV Experiment
I thought about it and decided not to wait any longer. It wouldn't be good if something really scared me. I'll just sleep with my computer on and check the recordings in the morning. After all, people are braver during the day.
Thinking of this, I lay down on the bed, and my cousin also stopped reading, lying beside me. I closed the door and said to my cousin, let's sleep; no matter how great the noise, we won't go out to check. Whatever happens, we will discuss it when the sun rises.
Sigh, I don't want to think about it anymore, let's talk about it later. I hurriedly had my meal and asked my cousin to come to my room to sit beside me and read. After all, she came to me for help with her studies, so we can't just play around. Thus, I focused on the computer while my cousin sat beside me reading, and both of us were very quiet.
"Stop! What have I done? You drooled, and I helped you wipe it off, what's wrong?" I am wronged to death.
Having prepared the water, I returned to my computer and continued to stare at the screen
I immediately pushed my cousin aside to see what was wrong with her chest. Upon pushing, I realized it was not blood; it was her saliva! I felt a mix of amusement and exasperation. This girl must have pressed her mouth while sleeping in my arms, causing her drool to cover me completely. After a night of evaporation, it had become quite sticky. I noticed she also had some on her face, so I quickly supported her head to prevent it from getting on the bed. Then, I took out two tissues to wipe myself off and went on to clean my cousin's face. Unexpectedly, this action woke her up.
I was busy finding the paper in the wastebasket, on which the blood from the book had already dried. I held it for a long time, but I couldn't tell what kind of blood it was. Speaking of which, it seems that animal blood is quite similar. How can I determine if it is the blood of a yellow eel?
Brother, you scoundrel, how could you do such a thing to me
However, there is one issue: in order to watch it live, a data cable must be connected to the computer. Unfortunately, there is no data cable of sufficient length at home
The cousin agreed and got up to go out, but just as she stepped outside, she stopped again, saying, "Brother, come in with me."
No, I seem to have discovered something; this does not appear to be burgundy, but rather...! ... blood red!
After I had seen countless nonsensical methods, my eyes were hurting. At that moment, I came across a post. Upon opening it, I found that the content suggested applying eel blood on the door, which would attract bats to crash into it, creating the illusion of ghostly knocking. I thought this was quite plausible and felt a surge of joy, thinking that the blood handprint I had seen today must have been made by someone using eel blood. Suddenly, I felt a sense of relief.
"Okay, I know she was afraid to go in by herself to get water, so I went in with her.
My cousin looked at me, and I looked at her. For a moment, both of us were somewhat taken aback. I mustered the courage to pull down that tuft of hair and examined it closely. The quality of her hair was not very good; it was quite poor.
There is no good way to find out; unless one seeks to have it tested by someone. It is not just a matter of consulting a book; specifically seeking someone to test whether the blood on a piece of paper is eel blood seems a bit excessive
Now I feel a chill down my spine; we absolutely do not have anyone with burgundy hair, and even if we did, it certainly wouldn't be this long. This hair is at least sixty to seventy centimeters long
I am truly haunted; it seems I need to find a sorcerer to perform a ritual. As I thought this, I immediately negated myself, realizing that most sorcerers nowadays are frauds. If I were to find a fraud, and there really is something malevolent, it might end up offending it instead.
Now we just need to wait until nightfall, and then we will be able to find out what exactly is causing the disturbance in the bathroom
Until my cousin finished washing, nothing appeared. It was strange; could it be that the thing knew I had installed a camera and was deliberately not showing itself?
I got up to wash my face and brush my teeth, and soon began to eat. My cousin told me that she had woken up more than an hour earlier than I did
Burgundy, very long, definitely not mine. I glanced at my cousin; although this girl loves beauty and dyes her hair, her hair is light yellow and not that long.
Returning to the room, I let my cousin sleep and sat down in front of the computer to go online. I wanted to see if there were any methods to suppress these filthy things or to dispel some bad luck.
My feelings of joy quickly sank to the bottom. Clearly, the statement about the eel was unfounded. I sighed and looked outside; the rain had lessened, and dawn was approaching. I was utterly exhausted, so I got up and crawled into bed, falling asleep immediately.
Although I couldn't see very clearly without the light, it was generally manageable. I nodded and went out to eat. My cousin saw me come out and helped me serve a bowl of rice. As I ate, I thought about what I would do if something really did appear—whether to go in and fight it or consider some other option.
Just as I was about to pull her hand away, I suddenly felt a warmth in my chest, as if some liquid was flowing out. I quickly reached out to touch it; it was sticky. Oh no, could it be that I'm bleeding?
Just when I was at my wit's end, my cousin walked past me with a camera. A flash of inspiration struck me; of course, why hadn't I thought of that? Just because my eyes can't see doesn't mean that other things can't be captured. A camcorder would do the trick. I hurriedly found the DV camera at home and started charging the battery
It was a little past 9 o'clock, and I was feeling a bit sleepy, as nothing much had happened. However, my cousin and I had not yet taken a shower; firstly, because the weather was not too hot, and secondly, because we were a bit scared, after all, that bathroom was rather eerie.
I asked my cousin if she wanted to take a shower. She said she wanted to but was afraid and didn't dare to go in. I responded with a sound of acknowledgment, but there was nothing I could do; I also didn't dare to go in for a shower.
"What are you thinking? I am here to help you clean your face, yet it has become so sticky," I hurriedly explained
I hurriedly took a taxi to the electronics market, purchased a long data cable, and once everything was ready, I went into the bathroom to take a look. The DV camera fit perfectly on the marble countertop, with hardly any blind spots. I connected the data cable, closed the bathroom door, and tested it; the cable could just fit under the door. I opened the computer, checked the effect, adjusted the angle a bit, and after getting everything set up, I let out a long sigh of relief
Brother... what are you doing? Did you... last night?" My cousin, still half-asleep, glanced at me, suddenly widening her eyes in surprise, her tone unexpectedly unnatural
My cousin clearly had no objections; she nodded and was about to fall asleep. Seeing this, I thought it unnecessary to turn off the light, as it wouldn't make much difference in the electricity bill.
Night has arrived as expected, and it has just rained. The weather is still a bit cool. Sitting in front of the computer, I shivered slightly. I just finished making dinner, and my cousin is currently eating. I will first see how the evening turns out.
It was at this moment that I realized the situation before me; I was holding a roll of tissue paper, which had a patch of mucus on it, and I seemed to have recalled something.
After finishing our meal, I took my cousin and headed straight to the antique market, where a wide array of items for warding off evil spirits was on sale, including talismans from Taoist priests.
There is a problem in this bathroom! There is definitely a problem! But where exactly is the problem? I can't think of it right now. I feel that I can't stay here any longer, so I pulled my cousin out.
As soon as I finished speaking, I regretted it; sure enough, my cousin let out an "ah" and started hitting me.
After the gathering and the books, I told my cousin that if she felt uncomfortable, she could bring some water to the living room to wipe herself down, so she wouldn't feel scared.
When I woke up, it was already noon the next day. A delicious aroma had roused me; my cousin had ordered takeout, as she does not know how to cook, and she had chosen fried chicken.
However, how can one see what is inside without going in? Forget about peeking through the keyhole or the gap under the door; the door to our bathroom is very tight, making it impossible to see that way
Upon returning home, I suddenly had an idea: since the sound of water always disappears whenever we enter the bathroom, could it be that as long as we do not go in, we might be able to see what is actually happening inside?
I turned around to look at the bathtub; the color of the water seemed somewhat similar to that of the hair, albeit a bit lighter. My cousin did not closely examine the hair and was unaware of my thoughts. Seeing me lost in thought while staring at the bathtub, she tugged at me, which brought me back to my senses
I followed my cousin's hand and looked over; on the marble counter, there were some bathing products, but these were not the main focus. The main focus was the tuft of hair half-hanging over the edge of the stone counter
I thought about it carefully again, and it seems that the matter is not so simple. If the blood of the eel can explain the knocking on the door, then how can we explain what happened in the bathroom
In a daze, I felt something touching my face. I slightly opened my eyes and discovered that my cousin had once again wrapped herself around me. This time, her hand was resting on my face. I thought to myself, how can this girl be so restless while sleeping!
