Chapter 6, The Strange Amount of Blood Loss
Seeing that she did not want to leave immediately, Ye Zhiqiu and Jill certainly could not leave her here alone. Therefore, Ye Zhiqiu asked Jill to lean against the wall to rest while he stood beside Nicole and asked, "What are you looking at?"
"If you can discover something, perhaps you could win the Nobel Prize in Medicine," Ye Zhiqiu joked. "However, this is the first time I've seen a clergyman so interested in a corpse." He had once thought that Nicole was a nun, and at that time, Nicole did not deny it.
Ye Zhiqiu supported Jill out after she had vomited for a while. Upon seeing Ye Zhiqiu covered in blood, Nicole was genuinely frightened. She thought Ye Zhiqiu was injured and hurriedly shone her flashlight up and down, asking, "Where are you hurt?"
Observing her expression, Ye Zhiqiu shook his head and said, "Have you not considered why their movements are so swift? And why their strength has also increased?"
When Nicole reached halfway, she no longer dared to move forward. Looking at the corpse on the ground from a distance was not too frightening, but the smell in her nose was truly overwhelming. She covered her nose with one hand and called out loudly for the two people to come out quickly
Nicole shook her head: "When the human body loses more than 30 percent of its blood, the blood vessels constrict, and the blood flow gradually slows down. If you want to completely drain a person's blood and the books, it is impossible without special equipment." She stood up and walked to another corpse, the one that Ye Zhiqiu had disemboweled. The stench from the abdominal cavity was nauseating, yet she seemed oblivious to it, carefully probing the opened wound, murmuring, "What a terrifying weapon." This was a compliment to Ye Zhiqiu's knife.
At this moment, Jill finally had the chance to get up. Looking at the countless zombie corpses on the ground, she felt her heart sink, her legs weaken, and sweat break out. In disbelief, she said, "You killed them?"
Ye Zhiqiu shrugged and Jill moaned, "I am hurt"
Ye Zhiqiu reached out and pulled her, saying: "There is nothing worth seeing inside, let us go."
Jill did not have a grudge against Ye Zhiqiu; it was just that Ye Zhiqiu was too quick. She only saw a zombie rushing past Ye Zhiqiu and did not have time to think much. Her finger twitched, and the bullet was fired. Just then, that zombie had its neck twisted by Ye Zhiqiu, and as the corpse fell, it revealed Ye Zhiqiu. It must be said that the fact has proven that shotgun bullets have little lethality against zombies; it is still more effective to shoot at Ye Zhiqiu.
Jill wanted to oppose m.hetushu.com, but unfortunately, her body was uncooperative. She still felt weak all over. As she watched Ye Zhiqiu slowly turn around the corner, she glanced at the corpse on the ground with lingering fear, feeling that the stench of blood was suffocating. She leaned against the wall and waited for a while. Not hearing any news from Ye Zhiqiu, she instead heard Nicole calling her from outside another door. Jill casually responded and turned to look in the direction where Ye Zhiqiu had disappeared. She heard her voice echoing in the corridor and smelled the acrid scent of blood. Leaning against the wall again, she waited for a while, still not hearing from Ye Zhiqiu, but again heard Nicole calling her from outside the door. Jill casually replied, turned to look in the direction where Ye Zhiqiu had vanished, heard her voice echoing in the corridor, and smelled the choking scent of blood. The usually fearless Jill suddenly felt afraid.
Nicole examined the corpse in the pool of blood and said, "God is my witness, this is the first time I have observed them from such a close distance. I bet the number of people who have this opportunity is very few"
Ye Zhiqiu angrily gestured at her, knowing that he had no good way to retaliate, and could only accept his misfortune
Seeing Nicole walk in, Jill wanted to stop her but felt as if she lacked the strength to even speak. Ye Zhiqiu remained motionless; she shifted her body, laboriously stepped over the corpse on the ground, and walked toward the wall. Just as she reached the corner, she saw a flash of light, and Ye Zhiqiu emerged, startling her. She stumbled, nearly falling.
Ye Zhiqiu was at a loss for words, took a step back, and turned to look at Jill, who made a gesture of helplessness towards him. Then he heard Nicole muttering to herself, "The wound has stopped bleeding, how could it be so quick?"
Jill steadied herself, and upon hearing Ye Zhiqiu's words, she became even more curious. She leaned forward and shone her flashlight inside. The space was not large, but under the beam of the flashlight, everything was quite clear. At that moment, she could no longer hold back and, supporting herself on Ye Zhiqiu's shoulder, she began to vomit.
Jill certainly did not want to stay any longer. At this moment, Nicole confirmed that it was safe and, instead, was no longer in a hurry. She used the back of her left hand to cover her nose while her right hand waved a flashlight around: "My God, this place looks like it has just been the set of 'Final Destination.' There is at least a gallon of blood on the ground"
"You didn't say anything about taking prisoners." Ye Zhiqiu took out a large handkerchief from his pocket, wiped the blood off his hands and the knife handle, and then had the opportunity to wipe the blood from his face. He picked up the flashlight he had previously thrown on the ground and said to Gil, "You stay here, I will go take a look."
She quickly stood up and said in confusion, "It seems that they drained more than half of the blood from my entire body in an instant, and then the blood vessels constricted protectively"
Nicole looked up from the *illustrated* book and glanced at him, shaking her head and saying, "I am a practicing surgeon, not a clergyman." Then she ignored the astonished Ye Zhiqiu and continued, "They are very emaciated, their fur has fallen out completely, and they appear malnourished." She used the tip of her knife to pry open the clothing on the corpse: "Their muscles are not as strong as I imagined, so why do they have such great strength?"
"Where?" You can be serious, quickly turning around to look at her. Jill pointed to her chest: "My heart is hurt. We've been together for six months, and you actually care about him first?"
He wiped the blood from his face, raised the knife in a defensive posture, and shouted, "Don't shoot." In front of him was an empty space, with nothing strange emerging. Ye Zhiqiu took a step back, leaned against the wall, and kept his knife hand at his waist. He turned to Jill and gritted his teeth, saying, "For God's sake, I told you not to shoot behind me."
Nicole heard Jill's voice and felt relieved. She carefully pushed open the door and walked in. Inside, she heard several gunshots in succession, leaving her uncertain about what had happened. The feeling of worry was truly unbearable. At that moment, she once again felt that it was terrible to be a civilian staff member who could not be of any help.
Only after seeing the picture book did Nicole realize she had been deceived, and she immediately ignored her. Ye Zhiqiu supported Jill as they walked past her, smiling and saying: "Shall we go? Do you still want to stay a little longer?"
"What do you want to say?" Nicole did not understand Ye Zhiqiu's meaning and responded with a question.
Ye Zhiqiu raised an eyebrow, remaining silent. Jierqi said, "Are you saying their blood has run dry?"
Jill apologetically shrugged at him, saying, "It was an accident."
"One to two gallons, if you count the splashes on the walls and the ceiling." Ye Zhiqiu confirmed her words but did not understand what she meant, adding: "And I thought we were living in a horror movie right now"
Nicole's Remington was given to Jill, leaving her with only a long-handled dinner knife for self-defense. At this moment, she drew it out and began to poke at the zombies on the ground, observing them carefully.
Ye Zhiqiu did not dare to stay on the ground for long and immediately jumped up. Who knows if there are more zombies rushing out from around the corner? He is not Japanese; lying down would not allow him to fight back against others.
At this moment, Ye Zhiqiu had to thank Remington for its shooting accuracy; he could even feel the sound of the wind created by the bullet flying past his head. If the spread of this shot had been a bit wider, Nicole would have had the opportunity to showcase her skills. As it was, it only resulted in Ye Zhiqiu getting splattered with blood as he crawled on the ground
