Chapter 9 Legend 1

My name is "Rong Yao" and I live in a town called Shishan, which is neither prosperous nor impoverished. It is located in the northeastern part of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. "Shishan" is a small basin, with residential houses built against the mountains. National Highway 102 runs through the town, and the vehicles passing by during the day bring a certain bustle to this relatively quiet town

In the summer of his fifth year, an unexpected event occurred in the life of Rongyao. He was playing alone at the gate when he saw a beautiful butterfly fluttering its wings by the well. He climbed up the well platform to chase it, and as he followed the butterfly to the edge of the well, he slipped on the moss-covered stones and fell in. With a splash, he landed in the water, struggling desperately. However, the more he struggled, the faster he sank. Gradually, Rongyao fell into a state of unconsciousness, and after an unknown amount of time, it seemed that a voice echoed in his ear. "Child, wake up." The voice was aged, ancient, and distant.

The home of "Glory" is located on the west side of the town, with an ancient well outside the main gate, the depth of which no one knows. "Glory"'s grandfather said it had already existed when he was young. Dozens of households rely on it for survival. It is said that this well changed Glory's life. According to the village elders, a divine dragon once resided in this well, as its bottom connects directly to the East Sea, and that dragon is the Dragon God of the East Sea. In ancient times, during severe droughts across the land, only this place enjoyed favorable weather, all thanks to the blessings of this Dragon God. Every year during droughts, the villagers would slaughter pigs and sheep to pay homage to the Dragon God. In fact, this is merely a legend that no one believes. However, this legend has been passed down from generation to generation.

Hearing this sound, Xiao Rong's heart calmed down, and he was no longer afraid. In a tender voice, he asked, "Are there really dragons in this world?"

Little "Glory" awakened upon hearing a sound, discovering that he was in a pitch-black place where nothing could be seen. Little "Glory" was very frightened and trembled as he asked, "Who are you?" Again, that ancient voice echoed from a distant place: "I am the Dragon God, a being that existed before this universe was formed, as spoken of by you Earthlings."

This is the very center of the universe. Billions of years ago, amidst the void, planets gradually emerged, though their numbers were few at that time. However, through the long passage of time, they evolved and multiplied, forming countless galaxies. Each galaxy is separated by vast distances, and as time passed, life similar to yours, humans, began to arise on the planets of each galaxy. The long years made me quite bored, so I transformed into different forms of life and wandered on each habitable planet. One day, I arrived at what you humans call the Milky Way, and came to Earth, where I saw countless forms of life, including powerful humans and formidable creatures. There is a creature called a dragon, which is so powerful that it can control the forces of nebulae, summoning winds and rains. As time passed, I transformed into its form and wandered on Earth. One day, I came to the place where you reside and discovered a large spring, where remnants of the void's power still lingered. I settled there, and I do not know how long it was before humans began to inhabit this place. I watched them live, passing down their lives from generation to generation. One year, there was a great drought, and the people suffered greatly. I could not bear to see the hardships of the people here. Therefore, I transformed into the form of a dragon and brought them clouds and rain.

There is, but I am not a dragon; I am merely a living entity. I can control the primordial force of the universe, which is the force of the void. All things in the world emerge from nothingness into existence, thus the force of the void can control all powers within the universe. So, what is this place?
