Chapter 6, An Inexplicable Aircraft

Dark Small Medium Large Original Scroll to Bottom

Xiao Fei did not have time to turn around; he instinctively sensed a gust of wind behind him, and a sense of crisis spread through his heart. He suddenly pushed off the ground and lunged forward, narrowly avoiding a shovel. However, while he managed to evade the attack, his clothes were torn. Furious, Xiao Fei turned around abruptly, but before he could see who had struck, he heard Li Qiang's roar. Li Qiang, wielding a wrench he had somehow found, raised it high and aimed it at the young man named Yu Zhang. Upon seeing the shovel in Yu Zhang's hand, Xiao Fei understood everything. But as he watched Li Qiang's wrench descending towards Yu Zhang's head, he couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine. If that wrench struck, it would surely result in a fatality.

The young man shivered, his face filled with despair, mumbling helplessly: "I didn't mean to, I really didn't mean to. How was I to know that Third Sister-in-law would rush out? I originally intended to hit that little brat, but I ended up hitting Third Sister-in-law instead."

At this moment, a chaotic battle was underway. A woman who had drawn attention rushed out, but before she could say another word, a young man struck her on the head with a club, instantly causing her to bleed profusely from her head as she collapsed to the ground, clutching her head.

Yuzhang was taken aback, scratching his head, and asked in confusion: "How is it unclear, Third Sister-in-law? Didn't you say that these three young men spoke some inappropriate words to you? How could that allow them to leave the village?"

Li Qiang struggled vigorously but could not break free from Xiao Fei's grasp. Unable to contain his anger, he shouted, "You dare! Don't hold onto me. Did you not see how those little rascals just attacked with all their might? Let's fight them. Let go of me."

Xiao Fei ignored Li Qiang's words, only holding onto him tightly and refusing to let go. Suddenly, a young man rushed forward with a wooden stick, aiming to strike the two of them. However, before the stick could fall, Xiao Fei took a quick step forward, darting in front of the young man and kicking him away. Just as he was about to charge at another young man, he suddenly heard a woman's earth-shattering cry: "Stop fighting, I beg you all."

Yuzhang was taken aback, and so were the group of young people. It turned out it was not as they thought; it was a misunderstanding. They had inexplicably gotten into a fight and nearly hurt someone. Yuzhang's face turned bright red, and after holding back for a while, he suddenly whispered, "What were they asking about, Third Sister-in-law? It seems rather strange."

The young man was on the verge of tears, feeling truly unfortunate. He had originally intended to help Sister San, but instead ended up hurting her. What would he do if something serious happened? How would he explain it to Brother San when he returned? Hearing Sister San suddenly moan softly, he couldn't help but feel a tightness in his heart. He quickly walked two steps to her side and asked with concern, "Sister San, are you alright?"

For a long while, no one spoke; only the soft sobs of the women could be heard. After pondering for half a day, Cheng Dong swallowed hard and said with a bitter smile: "Courage, it's alright. No matter what, we should go back and think of a solution. Otherwise, we can seek out that sorcerer and ask him for guidance; perhaps he can still help you."

The young people from Yuzhang watched eagerly as Xiao Fei and the others got into the car, yet they did not pay any attention to them. The impact of the earlier conversation was too great for them to accept, leaving them unable to recover from the shock for quite some time. Finally, a woman could no longer hold back and groaned softly, saying: "Brother Yuzhang, please take me to the village clinic. I feel a bit dizzy"

This only awakened a group of young people from Yuzhang, yet no one dared to provoke Xiao Fei and his companions, as everyone feared being tainted by something dirty. They watched helplessly as the taxi slowly drove away, hoping that this matter would come to an end and never appear beside them again. The taxi vanished into the distance, stirring up a once peaceful small village. All the villagers gathered around, inquiring carefully about the events of that night. Just how heavy is human curiosity? It was not until the night gradually enveloped the small village that Xiaoluo Village returned to tranquility.

Li Qiang swung his wrench but missed. Unwilling to give up, he raised the wrench again, intending to charge forward, only to be pulled back by Xiao Fei. Turning around, he saw it was Xiao Fei. Just as he was about to struggle, he heard Xiao Fei's deep voice: "Qiang Ge, are you crazy? That last blow could have cost someone their life. It's one thing to get into a brawl and end up bloodied, but do you really want to kill someone?"

The woman nearly fainted upon hearing this. She could not remember what she had just said, but she was certain she would never say such a thing. Covering her head, she endured waves of dizziness and forced a bitter smile, saying: "Yuzhang, when did I say that? They came to inquire about something, but the matter they asked about was rather strange, which is why I wanted to drive them away. How did you come to think of it that way?"

The woman gently shook her head, made an effort to clear her mind, turned to look at Xiao Fei and the others, and let out a light sigh, saying: "Alright, I will tell you. Last night, no girl in a red dress came by, but our pigs gave birth to a litter of six. However, one of them died shortly after being born. Other than that, there was nothing else that happened."

Ignoring the stick swinging towards him, Xiao Fei kicked the book away, sending the Yu Zhang flying. Li Qiang's attempt to grab narrowly missed hitting Yu Zhang's chest. Before Xiao Fei could catch his breath, he was struck on the back with a stick, causing him to stagger and nearly fall to the ground. Pressing his hand against the ground, he turned around, his eyes blazing as he stared at the person who had just attacked him.

As soon as the words fell, Cheng Dong, who had been holding back a belly full of anger, could not help but let out a low roar. With a twist of his fists, he deflected a stick that was swung at him, and with a sudden lift of his foot, he kicked a young man in front of him, who was about to raise a brick to strike him. The kick sent the young man flying, his feet leaving the ground as he soared nearly two meters before tumbling to the ground, clutching his stomach and groaning. It seemed he would not be able to get up for a while.

Xiao Fei was also unwilling to show weakness. Perhaps due to Li Qiang's injury, or perhaps because of the heaviness in his heart, all his pent-up anger was vented on the group of young people before him. Two wooden sticks came crashing towards Xiao Fei, one from the front and one from the left. Xiao Fei let out a muffled grunt, but instead of retreating, he advanced. With a push off the ground, he charged towards one of the young men, ignoring the two wooden sticks striking him. He threw a punch at the young man's face. The young man had not expected Xiao Fei to charge forward instead of dodging the wooden sticks. As he saw the fist growing larger, he realized it was too late to evade. Although the wooden sticks landed on Xiao Fei, the proximity diminished their force, causing no real harm. However, Xiao Fei's punch landed without reservation on the young man's face, leaving him with a ringing sensation in his head as he fell backward.

Cheng Dong and Li Qiang struggled to lift Xiao Fei into the car, feeling as if all their strength had been drained. Li Qiang attempted to start the engine several times without success, his heart racing with anxiety. After numerous attempts, he finally managed to get the engine running, but then hesitated for a long time before driving off

After saying this, the woman suddenly began to sob softly, feeling a bit frightened. How could such unfortunate events happen to her? At first, she felt indifferent, but once she realized, she couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling about that group of pigs. Just thinking about it made her uneasy. Perhaps by tomorrow, she would sell all the pigs and never raise them again.

In an instant, everyone on both sides was stunned, involuntarily stopping their actions. The person from Yuzhang stepped forward, hurriedly helping the woman up, softly calling out: "Third Sister-in-law, Third Sister-in-law, are you alright? Please don't scare me, Third Sister-in-law."

At that moment, when the altercation began, the woman did not react immediately. By the time Yuzhang used a shovel to strike Xiaofei, and Li Qiang swung a wrench to hit Yuzhang, the woman was so frightened that she nearly collapsed to the ground. She felt a deep sense of fear, realizing that this was a life-and-death struggle. If anything were to happen, it would all be for her own sake, and in the end, it would all fall back on her. She could hardly bear the thought of it, which is why she rushed out, hoping to mediate this conflict.

As soon as Xiao Fei's words were spoken, although his voice was not loud, everyone present was taken aback. The young people from Yuzhang turned pale, and all eyes turned to Xiao Fei. From his demeanor, it was clear he was not fabricating anything. Looking at Li Qiang and Cheng Dong's silence, could it be that they came here to verify this matter? No wonder San Sao was unwilling to engage them in conversation, insisting on driving them away. If it weren't for the chaos caused by us and the three of them almost leading to trouble, San Sao probably wouldn't have even mentioned this matter. Moreover, from the tone of the conversation, it seemed to be true. But is there really a ghost?

The woman let out a groan, having just been completely stunned by the earlier incident. It took her a moment to regain her composure as she touched her head, only to find her hands covered in blood. This startled her, but she was more concerned about the possibility of the two groups fighting again. Ignoring her own injury, she anxiously pulled at Yuzhang and said, "Yuzhang, what are you all doing? You didn't even ask what happened before starting to fight. If something serious happens and your third brother comes back, won't he just kill me? What are you all thinking?"

In the brief skirmish, two villagers had already fallen, lying on the ground and groaning. The young man named Yuzhang, who had not yet joined the fray, felt his eyes redden and his head heat up. He instinctively grabbed a shovel that was standing at the door and swung it towards Xiao Fei with a fierce determination, displaying a truly formidable spirit. Yuzhang, being a robust figure, indeed exuded a certain forcefulness in this desperate act.

Hearing the sobs of a woman, Xiao Fei suddenly felt all the strength in his body drained away, feeling even more exhausted than after a fight. His legs went weak, and he sat down heavily on the ground, gasping for breath. It seemed he might have guessed correctly; that female ghost was indeed here to be reborn. Could it be that the one who had died was the host of that female ghost?

Speaking, the young man who accidentally hit the woman glared and shouted loudly: "Have you lost your mind? Don’t you even look at who it is before you act? If something happens to Third Sister-in-law, when Third Brother comes back, won’t he skin you alive?"

Xiao Fei gasped for breath, paused for a moment to regain his composure, and hoarsely said: "That dead little piglet might just be that female ghost"

Li Qiang and Cheng Dong watched as Xiao Fei slumped to the ground, their hearts tightening with concern. Unsure of what was wrong with Xiao Fei, they hurriedly reached out to support him on either side. Li Qiang, even more worried, asked, "Boldly, what happened to you? Are you alright?"
