Chapter 10, The Banquet

Kailerman turned his head to look outside the door

"No need, Mr. Kaimen, I will arrange for a car to bring Chris back later." Colin's face broke into a smile again, "Come on, Chris, let me show you something new."

Colin's presence alleviated the slight oppression in his heart. Colin was carefree and unconcerned with noble etiquette. During their first meeting in the previous life, Velak had stammered and struggled to speak, yet Colin showed no suspicion whatsoever. Over the following two months, he often took Velak to enjoy various interesting activities and stood up for him when he was bullied, making him the only person Velak held any fondness for in the dark and dreary life in Lezein.

He preemptively rejected Colin in order to prevent Kaimen from expressing his apologies to Colin and not letting him go. If Kaimen had spoken, Colin, as a junior, would naturally find it inappropriate to say much. However, Kaimen's ambiguous remarks have caused Colin's dissatisfaction. If he were to speak again in front of everyone today, it would reflect poorly on the Thomas family.

Fletcher brought Velak before Kellerman: "Miss Kellerman, from now on, Master Chris will be under your care."

Indeed, Velak had no choice but to put down his wine glass and, following the agreed-upon words, began to praise Janos. "Janos's elegant discourse and profound knowledge make me envious. I have attended his concert, and his skillful and emotionally rich performance moved me in an instant. I never expected that we now share a deeper connection; in the future, we must take the opportunity to exchange ideas about music and seek advice on management matters."

"Today I specifically came to find you. You seem to be in good spirits, so you must have fully recovered. After the dinner party, I will take you to see something interesting," Colin said with a cheerful smile.

Villac turned to Kaimen and said, "I will pay attention to safety, Father"

After a while, the Kamein couple, accompanied by their youngest daughter Julia, arrived at the entrance of the banquet, waiting to greet the guests

Colin's tone was somewhat displeased: "You have already missed our appointments several times. You said you would come before the banquet today, but now you are not going?"

"Understood, sister," said Velak.

Everyone begins to enjoy oysters using specialized oyster forks

After both parties exchanged greetings, Meira and Kellerman led the members of the Fain family into the reception room

The first to arrive were Mr. and Mrs. Fain of the Fain family, along with their eldest son, Genos, who is about to marry Kellerman

Kaimen stared at Velak and reminded, "Come back early"

Uh... Vylak looked at Kaimen again

The dinner held today primarily features the Fane family, who are about to enter into a marriage alliance with the Thomas family. In addition, the Arnold family, engaged in the jewelry business, has also been invited. The venue for the dinner is the parlor located on the left side of the first floor of the Thomas family residence, where busy servants are currently making preparations.

The Arnold family also prepared to leave after the Fain family departed. Before leaving, Colin called out to Velak: "Chris, let's go outside and play for a while"

"I have been ill these past few days and am recuperating at home," Velak said with a smile

After Fletcher left, Kellerman walked to the front door: "The guests are arriving soon, and you do not know them, so I will greet them one by one shortly, and you can just follow along and say hello."

After the Arnold family arrived, all the guests for today were present, totaling eleven people including the Thomas family. Mr. and Mrs. Kamain arranged the seating according to the principle of alternating genders, and the dinner officially commenced

Sigh, I am a bit tired today, how about we postpone it to another day?" Velak Shenkamen and Fletcher immediately declined Colin's suggestion

Villac looked around the reception room, where Fletcher was speaking with a servant. Given the current situation, it was not possible to consult Fletcher. He smiled and said, "Alright"

Villac took a sip of red wine, and before he could savor the appetizer, Kaimen mentioned him: "Jenos is excellent, but the one who often praises Jenos in my ear is not Kailiman, but Chris. He greatly admires Jenos's talent in music and his insights in business management"

Villac stood in front of the mirror, examining himself from head to toe. He treated Fletcher as a guest, simulating a conversation and etiquette. After receiving Fletcher's approval, the two of them went downstairs together

Seeing Colin again now, Velak could hardly contain his joy

The Thomas family was taken aback as they prepared to take the Arnold family out.

"Go ahead, Chris, you have almost recovered." Kaimen quickly responded, "Fletcher will go with you and pick you up in the evening."

The servant sprayed a light body spray on Velak, who changed into a white shirt and a black suit with a pointed collar and single row of buttons. Finally, complemented by a light-colored tie, a refined black belt, a dark waist cincher, and black dress shoes, Velak, who already had a somewhat cool demeanor, was further accentuated as noble and elegant

Chris! The young and impetuous Colin, who is also doted on by his parents, after greeting Carmen, casually threw his arm around Velak's shoulder, saying, "I haven't been able to reach you these past few days; our plan to go see something new has fallen through."

The banquet is about to begin

Is that so? Genos displayed a look of surprise and said, "It is an honor to engage in a deep discussion with you"

It has been accomplished

Kamein, Velak, and Julia welcomed the Arnold family, who arrived on time. The Arnolds had a close relationship with the Thomas family and the Fain family, and their only son, Arnold Colin, who was also invited, was Chris's best friend during his lifetime

The appetizer is oysters

The dinner lasted for two hours, during which Velak perfectly handled all the pre-arranged words. This greatly satisfied the Thomas family and Fletcher, putting their minds at ease

Time flies, and soon it will be evening

Hmm," Keleman said coldly as he looked at Velak, "you can go ahead and take care of your business.

Fletcher slightly bowed and took his leave. As the butler, he naturally had many other matters to attend to

Villac glanced at Fletcher, then turned to Kaimen. Kaimen was present, and his words would carry more weight than Fletcher's. Villac had to find a way to persuade Kaimen to let him go, after all, he was already an adult. If he were to go out, Fletcher, as the steward, would not follow him, and at that point, he could break free from control and interact with anyone he wished to meet.

Around 8 o'clock, the guests arrived at the entrance under the guidance of the servants

After the meal, Meila took the ladies to the living room to relax and chat, while the other gentlemen stayed in the reception room to discuss recent political and business topics. After more than twenty minutes, as it was getting late, the members of the Fehn family took their leave first.
