Chapter 8, The Monarch with Ideas
Ali Khan possesses assets worth several billion dollars; even a small portion given to this commissioner would amount to a figure that an ordinary person could never earn in a lifetime. Although Allen Wilson has already excavated the Indian Golden Temple, who would ever say that money is too much
Furthermore, Allen Wilson, whether in this life or a previous one, has reasons to trouble India. Without delving into past events, it is essential to note that the partition of India and Pakistan must fundamentally prioritize the interests of Hindus, and this is unchangeable.
The present time is no longer what it used to be; the strength of the United States has surpassed that of the United Kingdom. It will absolutely not be the case, as it was after World War I, that it would passively accept the facts under the joint resistance of Britain and France. During the Suez Canal Crisis, Britain and France, in a final display of the dignity of old imperialism, ultimately faced what kind of outcome? They were simultaneously threatened by the combined forces of the United States and the Soviet Union
Conversely, an independent India could potentially become the leader of the peaceful religious world, which would be detrimental to any major power. It is important to note that the current outbreak in Europe began with a complete subjugation of the peaceful religious world in the Middle East.
The north-south disparity in British India is far greater than that in China. The Tamil people of South India have established states several times, and aside from the Hindu faith, there is not a single aspect in which northern and southern India are similar.
Ali Khan nodded, not concealing this point, stating, "If there are only these two choices, I would certainly choose Ali Zhenna"
Without mentioning Sikkim or Bhutan, which are merely peripheral regions of the South Asian subcontinent, Hyderabad, as the largest princely state in South Asia today, occupies the center of the Deccan Plateau. It is a crucial area that must be controlled by the prosperous North India in order to suppress South India, which often remains outside the control of North India.
After much contemplation, I brought forth the assertions of the London free imperialists and stated, "The people of India have now generally developed a notion of independence, with protests and riots occurring one after another. Each year, the revenues from British India can no longer offset the expenses incurred in its administration. London will not engage in a losing venture."
From a broader macro perspective, the area stretching from the Strait of Gibraltar to Indonesia represents a vast world of peace teachings. A glance at the world map makes it clear that post-independence India is a crucial link that disrupts the connections within this world of peace teachings.
Pretend that London must respect public opinion, and counter the rhetorical question of the Hyderabad monarch; this does not imply that he, as the Hyderabad commissioner, is unprepared to take any action before British India is about to gain independence
As the Commissioner of the British Empire in Hyderabad, Allen Wilson could not possibly say that the British Empire is now unable to maintain its military presence in South Asia, for such a statement would undermine the prestige of the British Empire.
The Junagadh princely state is located on the Kathiawar Peninsula in India, covering an area of approximately 50,000 square kilometers. The situation in this princely state is similar to that of Hyderabad, with over 80% of the population being Hindus, while the ruler is a follower of Islam. Later, the king of this princely state decided to join Pakistan, which was met with strong opposition from the residents, leading to riots. The ruler fled to Pakistan, and subsequently, India took control of the princely state's government
Allen Wilson remained silent, unable to answer the question. He certainly could not say that the Earth had changed hands. The current strength of the United States and the Soviet Union has already surpassed that of the decaying British aristocracy. If Britain wishes to maintain its dominance in South Asia, it will undoubtedly not be permitted by the United States and the Soviet Union. The two countries will not allow Britain to gradually regain its vitality through British India as it did after World War I.
After World War I, Britain's strength remained intact, still within the same sphere as the United States. At that time, the United States was reluctant to stake its national destiny on a full-scale war against the British Empire and could only awkwardly retreat to the Americas to continue its isolationist policies
He believes that even the Soviet Union and countries with similar thinking to the Soviet Union hope that India will take on the responsibility of cutting off the path of peace.
Before the British withdrawal, the issue of the princely states was not limited to just the Kashmir problem; the princely states of Hyderabad and Junagadh presented similar challenges. Ultimately, the fact that only the Kashmir issue erupted can be considered a testament to Nehru's adept handling of the situation
Now let us discuss the idea proposed by Ali Jinnah, that the two major religions should establish independent nations in areas where they constitute the majority. Respected Sir, if I were to simplify the religious division, you would certainly lean towards Ali Jinnah, wouldn't you? Alan Wilson pointed out Ali Khan's identity as a peace-loving individual.
This attitude is applied in all places that India finds worthy, and it has persisted into the 21st century with the same attitude
This is indeed a difficult situation! In a pragmatic spirit, Allen Wilson provided Ali Khan with a pessimistic analysis, stating, "Nehru will not allow the Hyderabad princely state to maintain the status quo. The Hyderabad princely state, controlled by the Nizam, is far removed from the northwest provinces of the same religion, as well as from Bengal in the northeast. Analyzing the worst-case scenario, if a religious war breaks out in South Asia, you will be besieged by Hindus and will not receive assistance from other peaceful believers, as it is simply too far away.
Allen Wilson demonstrated through practice that there is no worst, only worse. In front of the silent Ali Khan, he continued, "In the Hyderabad princely state, Hindus account for eighty percent, while the peace-loving community is an absolute minority. Once Nehru incites the Hindus to adopt a referendum or any other means to find justification, the situation becomes truly difficult. To add, the situation faced by the princely state of Junagadh under this deduction is similar to that of Hyderabad."
If the situation were reversed, and South Asia emerged under the rule of the Peace Religion after gaining independence, the crucial cornerstone of the Peace Religion world would no longer exist. The small countries of the Indochinese Peninsula would lack the capacity to resist the overwhelming force of the Peace Religion. Therefore, the emergence of India, predominantly populated by Hindus, is a positive development for the current global situation
In contrast, the Kashmir that later triggered the India-Pakistan war had a Hindu king, while the majority of its residents were Muslims. Ultimately, Kashmir became the flashpoint for the India-Pakistan war
"Will it definitely be divided according to Ali Jinnah's intentions? London can completely continue to rule South Asia." After pondering for a while, Ali Khan couldn't help but feel irritated and said, "We can continue to maintain London's rule; isn't Prime Minister Churchill also of this attitude?"
If Allen Wilson were in Nehru's position, he would not be able to accept Hyderabad continuing to exist in an independent status
Returning to the topic, independent India was never prepared to engage in discussions with Pakistan. If the monarch was a pacifist, a referendum would be held among the predominantly Hindu population; if the monarch was Hindu, the opinions of the local rulers would be respected. What is yours is mine, and what is mine remains mine
Even Allen Wilson himself cannot believe these words. Although such voices have long existed, if one could continue to dominate South Asia, who would take the noise seriously? Protesting against reactionary wars while continuing the war is something even the rebellious United States has mastered.
