Chapter Seven, The Yin Eye
Qin Cai was pushed out of the car and led onto a lawn, entering the villa through a small door nearby. Upon reaching the second floor, she found several acquaintances waiting for her—Li Yushan's father, wife, and two sons
Can you all be reasonable? I have moved stones for so many days for him, is it easy for me? Moreover, he didn't fall ill only after he got to know me. You came to me when he was on the verge of death... uh... thinking about how Li Yushan looked when he came to find her, he really didn't seem to be on the verge of death. Qin Cai still felt a bit guilty, "Anyway, you all came to me only when you were at your wit's end, and now it seems like I am the one who made him sick!"
The sound inside lasted for about ten minutes, and finally a voice rang out: "Li Yushan is dead, and now you have what you wished for"
Does sealing the yin eye mean that one can no longer dream?
"Since you are treating Lord Shan, do you know what ailment he is suffering from? And what prescription are you using for his treatment?" His voice was also cold when he spoke, leaving Qin Cai stunned—she truly knew nothing at all
The woman spoke with a hint of breathlessness: "How could I possibly hold you accountable? However, Seventh Master... you truly won't suspect anything, will you? I am genuinely a bit afraid of his methods."
The room was filled with many people, yet it was exceptionally quiet. The old man, referred to as Master Qi, turned his head to look over, and it was only then that Qin Cai began to scrutinize the man dressed entirely in black beside him
The man's profile strikingly resembled Bai He, emanating a chilling aura. He maintained the demeanor of a reclusive sage, yet lacked the vitality of a living person that Bai He possessed. When he stood there in silence and stillness, he resembled an inanimate object.
Qin Cai was pushed to a spot three meters away from him. The room was furnished with a set of European vintage furniture, and the old man sat on a dark golden armchair, resembling an emperor. However, he was indeed too old; the passage of time instilled a sense of authority, yet it also revealed signs of decline.
Qin Cai Liao Ran: "And - is the master of the diagram and book a person of this world?"
Bai He nodded: "There are minor differences. The three categories are solitary cultivators, who do not concern themselves with the affairs of others, and practice alone. Bai Ji... is the younger brother of the master"
Qin Cai was taken aback—this voice actually belonged to Bai Ji. When another voice sounded, Qin Cai felt as if struck by lightning: "You dead ghost, if I get what I want, isn't it also what you want?"
At that moment, there was nothing more heartwarming than seeing him, and Qin Cai immediately called out, "Master!"
Thinking of the trust that Li Yushan and his family placed in him, Qin Cai felt quite distressed: "I did not know that mountain was him; I intended to let him live a little longer, but unexpectedly, I ended up causing his death"
At this moment, he was also sizing up Qin Cai, his pair of eyes staring intently as if piercing into her very soul. Qin Cai couldn't help but shiver, goosebumps crawling all over her body
How is it possible that the woman inside is actually Li Yushan's wife
A man in a black shirt beside him spoke up: "Killing requires paying with one's life, what else is there to say?" He made a gesture of cutting his throat, and only then did Qin Cai panic—what on earth is going on!
Qin Cai sat down heavily on the cushion, finally... still not working
In the realm of the Xuanmen, individuals are categorized into three types, similar to the general populace. One type is born to safeguard the normal operation of the heavenly principles, taking upon themselves the duty of eliminating violence and maintaining order, known as the Order. The second type lives entirely within the marketplace, exploiting the loopholes of the heavenly principles to steal the fortune and longevity of humanity in exchange for wealth, engaging in malevolent and sinister deeds. As the Order grew stronger, this organization gradually developed as well, known as the Human Realm
A flicker of unusual color flashed in the man's eyes, yet after a moment, he still spoke with a serious expression: "The name of Lord Shan contains the character for 'mountain'; a mountain is formed from the accumulation of earth and stone. You think that by removing the earth and stone you can save him, but you do not realize that he is fundamentally composed of earth and stone."
Bai Ji was completely unfazed and reacted to the book, surely having heard such remarks many times: "Stop rambling, remember my words." After saying this, he suddenly smiled slyly, "No money to go back, right? Someone who often sleeps on the pavilion lawn actually wants to take on a disciple, and even a female disciple, tsk tsk. How about this, you help me with a favor, and I will send you both back, how does that sound?"
"Is it done?" she asked softly, while Bai He closed his eyes to rest: "Mm."
The woman's voice was so captivating that it could draw water: "What kind of extraordinary ability do you possess, you pretty boy? And such boldness... If you are willing to marry me, I would gladly rush into your embrace.
Qin Cai had no particular fondness for him, but considering he might be a relative of Bai He, she refrained from saying much. Bai He, as if he had not heard anything, remained silent with his eyes closed
Leaving the villa, they encountered no obstacles along the way as Bai He led Qin Cai towards the highway. Qin Cai felt both shy and ashamed, saying, "Master, I was wrong."
She was angry when, unexpectedly, Bai Ji opened the door. His shirt was not fully buttoned, revealing a small patch of bronze-colored chest muscle. Qin Cai inexplicably thought of the woman's phrase about the capital of bravery, and instantly felt her face flush with embarrassment
There seemed to be sounds coming from a room on the left, and Qin Cai did not dare to knock on the door, so she pressed her ear against it. The sounds inside made her blush; the man's heavy breathing and the woman's low moans. Even Qin Cai, who was usually slow to catch on, understood what was happening. She was at a loss whether to leave or stay.
The man helped him up and seated him in a wheelchair. Nearby, Li Yushan's wife made a slight gesture, and someone brought in a sack. Qin Cai felt both frightened and ashamed—had she known, she would have never gotten involved in this matter, clearly a hero who knows nothing but pretends to be brave!
As the weather turned cold, Qin Cai also settled into the pavilion, her mind focused, and she no longer felt the chill. However, as soon as she entered this state of meditation, she found herself standing in a living room. The room was decorated quite luxuriously, with dark red furniture and golden wooden flooring. Qin Cai cautiously looked around, wondering to herself, "How did I end up here"
Bai He was sitting upright, just about to respond, when a sudden honking of a car horn interrupted. Qin Cai and Bai He both looked over and saw a black SUV parked by the roadside. The car door opened, and a man stepped out—none other than the dark-clad man with a sullen expression.
Bai He nodded slightly, raising his gaze towards the distance, lost in thought.
The two walked onto the highway, a place extremely far from the city, and even further from Zhuyang Town. Qin Cai was brought out so suddenly that she had no money on her. Bai He arrived in a hurry as well, with less than twenty yuan in total. The two had no options; at this hour, not only were there no long-distance buses, but even if there were, this amount of money would not be sufficient
This time, Bai Ji truly smiled: "Remember my share, I do not like others to default on their debts"
Qin Cai suddenly turned pale, saying, "Mom, he won't see me again, will he?"
Qin Cai sat opposite Bai He, shivering slightly. With Bai He blocking the wind, she felt a bit better: "Master, where have you been? It's been so many days without any news."
Qin Cai looked up and saw Bai He. He was wearing a dark blue Zhongshan suit and, ignoring the obstruction from others, he charged straight to the second floor, completely unaware of the impropriety of trespassing into a private residence
Fortunately, there is a pavilion nearby, and the two can only stay in the pavilion for one night. In this cold winter weather, they did not feel the chill while in the villa at Li Yushan's home where there was heating, but once they stepped outside, they felt the wind piercing straight to their bones
"Why do you want to kill my son?" His face was as stiff as a coffin lid. Qin Cai thought about the stones he had moved these days and was instantly furious: "Old man, are you out of your mind? I said I might not have a solution, and I have already done my best!"
Bai Ji was originally walking out while buttoning his coat, but just as he reached the door, he suddenly turned around and fixed his gaze intently on the spot where Qin Cai was standing
The gazes of those around her were all focused on her, gradually tinged with murderous intent from the initial anger. Qin Cai stammered, "And the books... I only saw many stones..." Qin Cai, steeling herself, recounted the two incidents of moving stones that had occurred over the past few days. Naturally, the people in the room were skeptical—what connection could there be between the two?
Upon hearing this name, Qin Cai felt a wave of clarity in her heart—could it be that this man is actually the brother of her master
No one spoke as the car sped along, quickly entering the urban area of Sanhua City. After passing the municipal building and heading south for approximately forty minutes, it finally turned into a villa.
The man in black who was pushing Seventh Master glanced at him, then at Qin Cai, and his expression suddenly turned very unpleasant
Bai He gently patted her head: "It is the passage of time that has brought this about, you are not at fault."
Having said that, he recited the incantation, using his index and middle fingers to lightly touch a yellow talisman to Qin Cai's forehead. Qin Cai felt a sensation that was both itchy and strange. Before long, the yellow talisman in his hand had disappeared, yet Qin Cai felt no different.
Qin Cai shifted closer to Bai He, and the man indeed walked over to the pavilion: "I have already settled things with Seventh Master; he will no longer trouble your disciple, but in the future, do not provoke him either"
Qin Cai suddenly understood: "Could it be that Li Yushan's death is related to him? Clearly, there are such extraordinary individuals around Li Yushan, so why did he still come to seek my help?"
Before others had entered the pavilion, the voice had already arrived. However, it was evident that this remark was directed at Bai He. Bai He remained seated, his demeanor indifferent: "Bai Ji, those who commit numerous injustices will surely bring about their own demise"
Bai Ji found it rather uninteresting and turned to leave... The cold wind howled, and Qin Cai was somewhat at a loss for words—Master, is the saying that one would rather suffer than lose face referring to us?
As Bai Ji departed, Bai He opened his eyes once more. Facing the inquisitive gazes of the Qin Cai, he began to narrate the tales of the Jianghu belonging to the Xuanmen.
Bai He nodded: "Negative information often goes unnoticed by you, and thus it will not trouble you. For the next few months, just focus on mastering the key principles of your practice."
Bai He reached out to touch Qin Cai's head and said: "Silly child"
The man was pushing Mr. Qi, seemingly preparing to go out. Suddenly, a maid dressed in white and black rushed in from outside, and before she could say anything, a person walked in.
This Qin cuisine is still understood: "It is just the distinction between the legitimate and the underworld."
Bai He looked at her and sighed softly after a long while: "Because there are people around him who want him dead." After saying this, without waiting for Qin Cai to ask further, he spoke softly, "Your talent is the Yin Eye, but your current cultivation is insufficient. As your master, I need to temporarily seal your Yin Eye. Once your cultivation is sufficient, I will unseal it, to prevent you from recklessly taking risks."
Qin Caixin felt a surge of rage—so it turns out that Li Yushan's two sons are also involved in this matter! Were they just pretending to invite me, merely to make me a scapegoat?
Master, you wouldn't have sealed it incorrectly, would you?
Qin Cai suddenly realized, and after a long time, was shocked: "So, does this mean... I really harmed him?"
The white fungus seems to be laughing, yet when it laughs, its voice remains cold: "How long can I have my wishes fulfilled? I fear that once the wealth is in hand, you will rush into the embrace of a pretty boy."
Bai Hejing walked into the room, took Qin Cai's hand, and without saying a word, led her out of the room as if picking up his own child from school, heading directly downstairs. Qin Cai glanced back at Seventh Master and the others; Seventh Master was about to speak when the man in black beside him stopped him with a slight shake of his head
The man fell silent, and the old man on the sofa took a few more puffs of oxygen, waving his hand: "You handle it."
Not long after, several individuals rushed into the paper candle shop and shoved Qin Cai into a white Jetta. They drove off at breakneck speed. When Qin Cai came to her senses, she found herself cornered by two men in the back seat. Deep down, she had a vague idea of what was happening, but she still had to ask: "Who are you? What do you want?"
Li Yushan has died
Bai Ji seems to be buttoning up the clothes: "Do you think you are the only one who is afraid? The two Young Masters Li are probably even more terrified."
