Chapter 3, Waste Materials (2)
Chu Zhengming sat upright in the high-ranking chair, while Chu Yunjie stood beside him with his head bowed
He expelled the foul air from his mouth and walked forward step by step. This world has little industry, and the air quality index is truly quite high, making it possible to cultivate immortality
Yanqi has been seriously injured this time. Chu Hua said with a smile, "He has not fully recovered yet and has forgotten many things."
"If you don't stop, I will scar my own face," Chu Yanqi said with a cold smile. "I am tired of living anyway, but if you dare to move, I will make sure that your ancestor dies with me"
"Yanqi, it is all because your father is useless, allowing you to suffer such humiliation." Chu Hua sighed softly, wondering if he had achieved a higher level of cultivation, would the Chu family be able to pressure their father and son like this? At over forty years of age, he had barely reached the ninth level of the Spirit Cultivation stage, and there was little hope for improvement in this lifetime.
In the midst of speaking, he managed to stop one thing, yet could not prevent another. Just as he was anxious, he saw Chu Yanqi pick up a shard of porcelain from the ground and coldly shouted, "Stop!"
Chu Yanqi was meeting Chu Zhengming for the first time. She originally thought that a cultivator would possess considerable skills and at least exhibit some ethereal demeanor. However, to her surprise, this person appeared quite plump and fair, with completely white hair and a rosy complexion, reminiscent of the portrayal of certain eunuchs she had seen on television in her previous life.
Chu Fu's pair of eyes briefly glanced over Chu Yanqi, and then he said: "Come in!"
I have met the head of the family! Chu Hua walked over and knelt down in front of Chu Zhengming
Chu Zhengming's residence was naturally large and imposing, with two grand stone lions squatting at the entrance and a magnificent spirit lantern hanging above, exuding an extraordinary aura. Chu Yunjie first led the group inside, instructing Chu Hua and his son to wait at the door.
Moreover, he felt that today Chu Yanqi seemed somewhat different. In the past, when bullied by them, Chu Yanqi would always hide alone in a corner, curled up and silent, not even daring to speak up to him. Yet today, she actually dared to retort and even fight back, which made him quite uneasy
At least, Chu Yanqi is not discouraged at all right now; on the contrary, he is filled with confidence regarding this unknown world
"Yanqi, when you see the head of the family later, be mindful of your words," Chu Hua advised in a low voice.
Not long after, a plump middle-aged man emerged from the *picture* book. Chu Yanqi recognized him; this was Chu Fu, the steward of the Chu family. He had visited him twice during his recovery, probably out of fear that he might die.
Upon hearing Chu Yunjie's call, the group of young men who had come with him surged forward in a frenzy, intent on capturing Chu Yanqi.
"You'd better not provoke me either!" Chu Yanqi said, "The head of the family is looking for my father. What is the matter?"
"It's nothing, I won't hold it against a child," Chu Zhengming said lightly. As he spoke, he couldn't help but glance at Chu Yanqi, secretly thinking, "The Kong Sang family has good taste; this child is indeed quite good-looking. Although dressed in coarse cloth and having engaged in rough work all these years, there is an inherent nobility about him that sets him apart from children of ordinary families. His appearance is handsome, but unfortunately, he is a good-for-nothing."
"Young Master, let us go over now; we must not keep the head of the family waiting too long," Chu Hua hurriedly said. Observing the situation, he realized that if the commotion continued, it would certainly be his own son who would suffer. It was only reasonable to promptly escort these little ancestors away.
"Brother Yun Jie, please don't be angry, and don't take it out on the books." Chu Yunhao hurriedly said. He and Chu Yunjie are cousins, and they usually have a good relationship, often bullying their fellow clansmen.
No problem! Chu Yanqi responded calmly, and since he had already made up his mind to escape, he could let go of everything with ease
Stop, stop, you cannot!" Chu Hua was in a panic; these young men were prominent disciples from powerful families, individuals whom someone like him, with no foundation, could not afford to offend. Heartbroken for his son and realizing he was no match for Chu Yunjie, he felt utterly powerless
Chu Yanqi had never knelt before anyone. Theoretically, should he kneel down alongside Chu Hua? However, his innate pride prevented him from doing so, no matter what.
"Yanqi." Upon seeing Chu Yanqi standing there, Chu Hua slightly frowned and hurriedly called out in a low voice
The person beside Chu Yunjie hurriedly handed over a handkerchief. Chu Yunjie took it and wiped his face, then looked Chu Yanqi up and down before saying, "You had better be sensible."
"You slap me once, I will splash you with a bowl of soup, and we will call it even. However, if you dare to make a move again, I will drag your entire family down with me today, even if it costs me my life," Chu Yanqi said ominously, these few words were almost squeezed out from between his teeth.
"Have you not yet discussed your becoming a son-in-law to the Kong Sang family?" Chu Yunjie scoffed, "I have truly never seen someone as useless as you. What is the meaning of your existence?"
"That's enough, get up!" Chu Zhengming tried hard to put on a benevolent expression, waving his hand to signal Chu Hua to rise.
Perhaps he truly regards life and death as inconsequential? Thus, he is also fearless?
In a previous life, I often dealt with some tomb raiders, those dark beings that walk underground, inherently exuding a sinister aura. They would kill anyone who obstructed them, whether human or ghost. As a result, Chu Yanqi, without realizing it, also became tainted by some of this banditry, which truly frightened Chu Yunjie at that moment
Since this world is vast, he does not believe he cannot escape—what distinguishes humans from animals is that humans can use their brains and tools; it is not a problem if they are not quick-witted, as they will always find a way.
Chu Hua cast a glance at Chu Yanqi, and then followed behind Chu Fu, heading towards the main hall of the Chu family
"Chu and the book at Yanqi, don't think I won't dare!" The more Chu Yunjie thought about it, the more frustrated he became. Never before had anyone dared to splash pigeon soup in his face, and he found himself at a loss for how to respond
If one could open the spiritual orifices and cultivate immortal arts, that would be the true life of an immortal
"You can give better elixirs to a more useless master," Chu Yanqi mocked, "Why not consider killing me, this useless one?"
Chu Yunjie was momentarily taken aback, but soon understood what the Kong Sang family valued in him. It was precisely this face. If he were to mar his own face, what would they use to exchange for elixirs for Old Master Zeng?
Chu Yanqi had never stepped out of her family's small courtyard. Following behind Chu Hua, as she walked out of the courtyard, she took a deep breath. The refreshing air made her feel a coolness in her lungs, which was quite pleasant
Knowing this, Chu Yanqi responded calmly, since they wanted to exchange him for elixirs, they might as well make him a little happy; otherwise, he truly did not care about having his face marred. Everyone would just part ways, and if it came to it, death was not something he had not experienced before
"Stop it?" Chu Yunjie laughed heartily, "Who the hell do you think you are? Do you expect us to listen to you?"
