Chapter 2, Fortuity
These are all left behind by the monks assigned here. Many of those monks have had their meridians damaged and their dantians broken, rendering them inferior to ordinary people. Zhang the captain explained: With these individuals starting out, the cultivation methods come easily, and there is no need for secrecy. Those who purchase the cultivation methods will certainly transcribe them and sell them, leading to a rapid spread of various methods over time. Therefore, the number of monks in Tianbao Prefecture is likely greater than that in the Central Plains.
"There is a spiritual vein here." With just this one sentence, Xie Xiaoyu silenced everyone's complaints
Only the eastern corner is protected by a mass of green energy, and the two hundred eggs are placed here. The Eastern Azure Dragon belongs to "Wood," which primarily nurtures; he hopes to hatch the eggs into chicks, and it would be ideal to protect them with wood energy. He painstakingly excavated this stone chamber because it is a branch of the spiritual vein. In the sect, only favored disciples are qualified to enjoy such a stone chamber; the place he used to live in was far inferior to this one
Upon reflection, much of the resentment he felt upon his arrival has dissipated. Exiled to this place, he unexpectedly finds himself in a favorable turn of events; one wonders if this could be considered a blessing in disguise. There is no rush to connect the copper kettle and the copper pipe; such trivial matters can be attended to later. Xie Xiaoyu sits cross-legged on the mat. Although he has been meditating and cultivating his energy in the city and on the flying ship, it was merely a token effort, as relying on the scant spiritual energy of the heavens and earth would yield little in terms of cultivation. This is not his first experience with cultivation, and it is not long before he enters a dream state. However, this time he consciously circulates his true energy. Most of the true energy within him is still the previously cultivated Tanyang Purple Qi, rather than the Liu Ru True Qi. If he does not deliberately circulate it, the two types of true energy coexist peacefully, like water in a well not interfering with water in a river. Now, by forcibly guiding the Tanyang Purple Qi along the path of Liu Ru's method, the Tanyang Purple Qi will gradually transform into Liu Ru True Qi.
That works. I will lend you a hand; I am more suited to take action than you. Xie Xiaoyu has come to a realization. There is a distinction between skillful and forceful methods in opening the meridians. If he takes action, he can guide those individuals' own energy to open their acupoints and clear the meridians, leaving much lighter traces, which can be remedied later; however, if Li Guangzong uses brute force, it is likely that more than half of these individuals will be rendered incapacitated
Of course there is " said Xie Xiaoyu with considerable certainty
Li Guangzong, the actor, Zhang the constable, and even the shopkeeper with the surname Lu were all fixated on Xie Xiaoyu. Every martial art technique he glanced at was meticulously memorized by them. Taking advantage of the opportunity while tidying up, the shopkeeper deliberately set aside those martial arts techniques into a separate pile
The business here is rather sluggish, and there is not much to steal, so several shopkeepers are huddled together chatting and playing chess
This journey is not that long and does not require six months. Two days later, the flying ship landed
The difference between having someone explain and not having someone explain is completely distinct. Even the most superficial techniques appear profound and inscrutable in the eyes of such individuals, making it utterly impossible to comprehend them thoroughly.
Now he has obtained the "Sixfold Method," and the first step has already been secured. The sword cultivation method is entirely different from his previous path, and everything must start anew. Xie Xiaoyu is just about to make a clean break with the past.
In the dream, he was practicing swordsmanship, and the techniques he employed were very rudimentary, with simple moves. Although "Liuru Method" is a secret technique for sword cultivation, it only contains some of the most basic moves. Practitioners need to combine these moves themselves to create a unique style of swordsmanship that belongs to them.
There are also many counterfeit goods. The actor said with irritation on the side, as he is the victim. Back then, seeing Li Guangzong achieve success in his cultivation, he was also tempted and saved money to buy a manual. As a result, he ended up not mastering anything and instead turned himself into something neither human nor ghost.
"Old Lu, please pause for a moment; I have brought a few guests," said Captain Zhang, tapping on the chessboard. Among the two individuals playing chess, one was a man in his thirties, resembling a clerk, with a sallow complexion and a gaunt frame, sporting a pair of thin mustaches. Upon seeing that the visitor was Captain Zhang, he quickly stood up with a beaming smile.
"The other martial arts manuals are incomplete; only these seven are relatively intact," he said as he turned to Li Guangzong. Li Guangzong, the actor, and Captain Zhang all extended their hands, each taking a manual to examine. Captain Zhang was merely curious; he had no need for these. As a government official, he naturally had martial arts manuals provided to him. In a real fight, he would not be much inferior to Li Guangzong; moreover, with the official weapons supplied to him, he was absolutely confident he could subdue Li Guangzong within ten moves.
"Among these seven books, which one is the best?" Li Guangzong could not discern the reason, so he simply asked directly
Everyone is unaware of what a spiritual vein is, yet they are sensitive to the character "vein." Mining requires finding ore veins, farming needs water veins, and making a living relies on social connections; anything associated with "vein" is undoubtedly a good thing
It is fortunate that the issue was discovered early; if it had been realized only after the true integration of man and machine, it would have been too late. Overthinking is futile, as he has already chosen the path of the sword cultivator. Xie Xiaoyu wielded the pickaxe, focusing intently on her digging. Two hours later, a deep cave appeared on the cliff face.
On the left side of Xie Xiaoyu, there are more than thirty books, which are the genuine items he selected, among which seven are placed together separately
The Four Symbols Array is actually quite similar to the Five Elements Array; it explicitly represents the Four Symbols while implicitly encompassing the Five Elements. However, there are distinctions between the two. The Five Elements Array emphasizes the dynamics of generation and overcoming, whereas the Four Symbols Array excels in differentiation and suppression, ensuring that metal, wood, water, fire, and earth each occupy their rightful positions
"What is its power like?" Li Guangzong asked eagerly. Although he had practiced before, he was not much better than a layman. Upon hearing about the thunder technique, he immediately felt intrigued.
Returning to the residential area, the sun was already setting in the west. Li Guangzong looked around and then pointed to a slightly cleaner spot, saying, "Let us settle our home here"
The other two individuals truly cared.
Xie Xiaoyu seemed to have caught something
"There is indeed a place where one can purchase martial arts techniques, but it is uncertain whether they are genuine or counterfeit," Captain Zhang interjected. Individuals like him, with countless informants under their command, naturally possess well-informed sources.
The Nine Heavens refer to the highest realm, with the Divine Heavens being the highest among them. Sometimes, the Divine Heavens also refer to the Heavenly Court, and the phrase 'the Nine Heavens and the Divine Heavens' signifies supreme authority. Xie Xiaoyu did not comment on the truth of this but merely explained the meaning of the preceding words. Li Guangzong walked over and gave his son a light slap on the head, scolding, 'Don't embarrass me. Would the cultivation methods of the Heavenly King appear here?'
A distant crowing of a rooster echoed, followed by an increasingly frequent chorus of crows. The dream was abruptly interrupted, and Xie Xiaoyu awakened from his meditation. Still in a daze as if he had just emerged from a dream, he suddenly formed a sword gesture with his hand and began to dance.
I picked up another book, flipped through it, and then tossed it aside
Li Guangzong no longer hesitated and directly took the book "The Classic of Strength" in his hands
However, he has completely changed now; he does not wish to engage in conflict, yet others will come knocking at his door. As the saying goes, "Sitting at home with the door closed, disaster comes from the sky." Whenever he recalls these thoughts, what arises in his heart is not anger, but confusion. He has never understood why this calamity has befallen him. He is even more perplexed as to why that person would want to frame him. Compared to Li Guangzong, he is a master; however, within the sect, his ranking is not high, always lingering in the middle, at best slightly ahead.
"What are you still dawdling for? Get to work," Li Guangzong shouted
The entire residential area is built on a spiritual vein, which is precisely what maintains the surrounding magical array, driving away the poisonous miasma and malevolent energies.
Were those few individuals bribed, or were there other reasons? Xie Xiaoyu could not understand it at all
Compared to the breathing techniques in "The Purple Mansion's Heavenly Talisman," the Great Dream True Method does not emphasize the circulation of true energy. Its pathway is quite simple, only circulating through the Ren and Du meridians. However, before practicing, one must first enter a state that is half-dreaming and half-awake
The top floor surprisingly sells incense, joss paper, coffins, burial garments, altars, wall hangings, Buddha statues, tribute documents, Qingci invitations, and various scriptures
The inland flying vessel is far smaller than the transoceanic airship, measuring only 40 zhang in length and 20 zhang in width. The number of passengers on this ship is approximately 30 to 40.
As soon as he stepped down from the flying ship, he had already noticed one thing
The items in the room suddenly moved without wind. Controlling the sword with Qi, where Qi is fundamental and the sword merely a tool for its manipulation; without the sword, Qi can still traverse freely. The Qi energy in the air spiraled and flowed, as if guided by one's fingers, seamless and unobstructed, completely unrecognizable from its initial application. Xie Xiaoyu had previously followed the path of unity between Dao and technique, and the integration of person and tool, occasionally using talismans, but had never practiced swordsmanship. He did not believe he had any special talent for swordsmanship, and the effectiveness of his first attempt should be attributed to practicing sword techniques in his dreams for most of the night before.
This practice is commonly referred to as transformation cultivation. If one does not convert their true energy, it is called concurrent cultivation, with each having its own advantages. The process of transformation cultivation will certainly involve some consumption; however, what is lost must be compensated by what is gained. Once the transformation is complete, it is equivalent to transferring one's previous cultivation to the new technique, and there will only be one type of true energy within the body, which excels in purity.
By the time we returned to the archway, it was already evening
This approach to entry is indeed easy, but it is difficult to achieve further improvement. Xie Xiaoyu is very clear about its advantages and disadvantages. In his view, this is fundamentally a practice of forcing growth and depleting resources.
"Carrying a huge pile of things back and forth is completely unnecessary," Li Fulv muttered again, while a few other foolish boys nodded in agreement. However, they did not dare to voice their thoughts, fearing they would get beaten.
He trades in these items and is certainly aware of which ones are genuine. However, it is impossible for him to have every single item examined by someone, and there are bound to be some oversights. Now that there is a free appraiser available, he certainly will not let this opportunity pass. The techniques he selects will be reviewed by others later, and it is possible that new discoveries will be made.
Clearly, this is yet another benefit of the "Sixfold Method"
Harboring a deep resentment, Li Guangzong initially planned to find a place to settle down, but has now changed his mind and decided to take these people to the mine first
However, speaking of which, if it weren't for this matter, the subsequent events would not have unfolded, and the "Classic of Strength" would not have reached his hands
The goods displayed here appear to be quite ordinary, while the truly good items are kept in the back and not brought out. These shops primarily cater to regular customers; newcomers like you, without the accompaniment of a loyal patron, will be ruthlessly taken advantage of. This serves both as an easy way to make some extra money and as a means to scare people away. " As Zhang, the captain, spoke, he led the way, explaining the intricacies of the situation.
Strangely enough, while most breathing exercises typically calm the mind, the Great Dream True Method has the opposite effect; the dreams it creates evoke past memories, leaving one in a state of unrest.
A group of foolish young men, lacking in common sense, were sent out to chop wood. Although they had practiced before, they had not yet mastered the skill; however, their muscles were much stronger than those of ordinary people, and they worked quite efficiently. Li Guangzong himself carried a thin-bladed axe, specifically responsible for processing the felled trees into planks and strips. This was a skilled trade as well as a labor-intensive task, and no one else was capable of handling it.
He did not expect that the Great Dream True Technique was not only a method for regulating breath and energy, but also allowed one to practice swordsmanship in dreams. For a moment, he was stunned
The "Dao" pertains to the realm of existence; to achieve longevity and eternal vision, one must at least cultivate the Golden Elixir. On the other hand, the "Fa" is used for conflict; he had never considered engaging in combat with others, and if he were unable to win, he could still escape.
The techniques arise from the heart, and each person's character is unique. Therefore, the same technique, when executed by different individuals, conveys entirely different impressions.
He has not practiced it, so he is unclear about which level the "Six Suchness Method" belongs to. However, one thing is certain: its power is definitely much stronger than that of the "Purple Mansion Heavenly Talisman," because this is a secret technique for sword cultivation
Is there such a good thing? Xie Xiaoyu said: In Middle-earth, the most precious thing is the martial arts techniques. Whichever family possesses them keeps them secret; who would sell them?
The Long family of Jingxi is indeed a prestigious family, and their control over secret techniques is much stricter than that of sects. The 'Thunder Technique' is a secret method that is not to be disclosed, and if it has reached your hands, it is certainly incomplete
The roads here are also not maintained, filled with potholes, and water accumulates everywhere, with many ponds already turning black and emitting a foul odor
He memorized more than 1,500 characters of the "Six Suchnesses" and also committed the corresponding illustrations to memory. He then brought that piece of paper and the entire booklet close to the oil lamp and set them on fire
Five holes had already been chiseled into the floor of the stone chamber, aligned according to the four cardinal directions. Once the jade was placed inside, he formed a seal with his fingers and pointed, causing the stone chamber to become instantly still, as if without wind. Immediately afterward, a beam of white light erupted from the western direction of the White Tiger, enveloping the entire stone chamber in an instant
One book after another, most of the techniques were discarded by Xie Xiaoyu after just a glance, with only one or two out of ten that could hold his attention for a little longer
Indeed. Xie Xiaoyu scratched his head, feeling that he had underestimated the situation, but he was not short of this little money. After taking his belongings and passing through the gate, he found a place to sit down. The flying ship operates once a day, and no one knows when it will arrive. Many people come early in the morning and board the ship only in the dead of night
Xie Xiaoyu did not refuse either. After all, the entire text of the "Lishi Jing" consists of only over 3,000 characters, with content that is plain and simple. In just one hour, he had already explained the entire text, including the pathways of true energy circulation and the points that need attention.
Everyone in front of the table wore a tense expression, fearing they would burst out laughing. Back in the day, Erzi and the others had also entertained such thoughts, but upon witnessing the plight of the performers, the others dared not act recklessly.
Xie Xiaoyu paid no attention to this side. He picked up a pickaxe, leaped onto the cliff of books, and began to chisel at a protruding stone platform.
"How can we build a house at such a height?" Li Fulv asked in a deep, resonant voice.
A few pieces of bronze ware along with two hundred eggs. Xie Xiaoyu picked up a small piece of broken gold to give to that soldier
The houses in the city, no matter how simple, at least have a polished exterior, and they are all multi-story buildings. Here, the landscape is dotted with low-rise bungalows, some made of rammed earth, some constructed with wooden boards, and others are thatched cottages; moreover, the construction is haphazard, clearly lacking any planning, with clusters here and piles there, making the entire residential area resemble a patchy mess.
The "Six Methods of Suchness" includes a set of breathing techniques known as "The True Formula of the Great Dream." The essence of any practice lies in the methods of regulating breath and energy, which is fundamental to the cultivation of vital energy.
Staring blankly at the vanishing lightning, traces of the lightning still lingered in his eyes, and the rumbling thunder echoed in his ears
However, this is merely a transitional period. When one reaches the highest realm, everything returns to its original simplicity, and even the self-created sword techniques will be forgotten, reverting to the most basic moves. In the words of the text, it is said: "The moves arise from the heart, driven by intention, manifested by spirit, effortlessly executed, unconstrained by form, seeking only the essence, and then the heart and intention give rise to each other, achieving unity of heart and spirit, ultimately becoming a natural expression." In a state between dreaming and waking, he repeatedly practiced those simple moves in his dream. Uncertain of how much time had passed, his sword techniques gradually began to take shape. The moves remained very simple, yet the execution became increasingly fierce.
The Six Suchnesses are terms used in Buddhism, namely: like a dream, like an illusion, like a bubble, like a shadow, like mist, and like lightning, referring to all things that are transient, illusory, and unreal
He opened the grass nest and took out all the eggs, placing them in the innermost part of the stone chamber. The empty grass nest was flat, and when turned upside down and placed on the ground, it served as a decent mat; however, sitting on it was far less effective. He rummaged through his pocket and pulled out a few pieces of jade, which were his only possessions
After he finished speaking, Li Guangzong anxiously asked from the side, "Do we have any hope of making it?"
Thank you, Uncle He. Li Guangzong bowed again. After taking the contract, he first pressed his handprint on it, then called his son over to also press his handprint. The others followed suit, each pressing their handprint on the contract, while only Xie Xiaoyu stood by and watched. Returning the document to the mine owner, Li Guangzong said: "Uncle He, please take a rest; we will take our leave now"
"What are you making a fuss about?" With just a glare from me, my son shivered and ran off to the other side, mumbling to himself as he aimlessly flipped through a pile of discarded techniques nearby
Gathering the momentum of a thousand miles, harnessing the power of heaven and earth, it strikes in an instant, illuminating the moment. This is electricity
"Young man, please help me choose." Li Guangzong simply let go. After a brief hesitation, Xie Xiaoyu selected the book "Classic of Strength" and also picked out the "Five Elements Classic: Chapter on Thick Earth" and the "Five Elements Classic: Chapter on Sharp Metal"
At that time, I was only a few months old, could I speak?" Li Fulü interjected, quickly retreating to the back. Li Guangzong glanced at the distant mine and said with a hint of nostalgia, "Fifteen years ago, this was a large mine, but now there probably isn't much ore left. Haven't you noticed that the stagnant water has started to smell? This indicates that the areas with ponds haven't been visited for a long time; everyone has likely gone to other mines.
He does not have many belongings, but they are quite heavy. When he placed the bamboo basket containing the copper utensils and a nest of eggs on the scale, the weight did not press down the raised scale beam until it reached twenty-seven pounds.
Unblocking the meridians is not difficult; it is entirely a matter of patience. By the time the last person's meridian is unblocked, a crescent moon has already risen to the rooftop.
The "Classic of Strength" has a long history, dating back to ancient times, and encompasses various schools and sects, comprising a complete set of eighteen levels of techniques. Here, you will find blood refining, acupoint penetration, muscle transformation, meridian circulation, hair cleansing, marrow extraction, rebirth, bone replacement, Earth Spring, and Heaven Gate opening, totaling ten levels, which should be sufficient for your cultivation. If you are fortunate enough to master all of them, it will not be too difficult to acquire the remaining eight levels upon your return to the Central Plains. The "Classic of the Five Elements" is similar, having also been passed down from ancient times to the present, and is considered a low-cost item among common goods. If you are lucky enough to master all of it, acquiring the remaining eight levels upon your return to the Central Plains will not be too difficult. These two texts are complete in their initial sections, but lack the latter content, which can also be easily gathered after returning to the Central Plains.
This damaged book, with its missing parts in the middle and highly scattered, strictly speaking, holds no value at all. However, for some reason, he always felt there was something elusive about it. After much hesitation, he ultimately decided to purchase it.
The flying ship is a small aerial giant vessel used for inland flight. It has a slow speed, a short range, and a limited payload, thus requiring only a small open area for takeoff and landing
After disembarking from the flying ship, Xie Xiaoyu felt that this place was far inferior to the city
Li Guangzong was taken aback for a moment, and after a long pause, he stammered in response: "What is the 'Thunderbolt Technique'? What is the Jingxi Long Family? I have never heard of it. This technique was obtained from a gang many years ago, which had four techniques: Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning. As long as one achieved great merit, one could learn any of them. I was fortunate back then to have brought back a Seven-Treasure Purple Mushroom from the mountains, and after presenting it, I exchanged it for this technique. Later, when I returned to the Central Plains, I taught this technique to my fellow townsmen, but for some reason, no matter how hard others practiced, they could not grasp it, and their progress was slow." Li Guangzong slightly cupped his fists; although he did not explicitly state it, everyone understood that he was seeking advice from Xie Xiaoyu.
However, this also made him alert; he had previously relied too much on magical tools. Once he lost the magical tools, he immediately became nothing.
Li Guangzong and others also passed through the gate one by one and sat down beside him. Soon, the embarkation point became lively, filled with people waiting to board the ship
In the past, he might have hesitated, as he places greater importance on "Dao" than on "Fa".
However, the broad road, as its name suggests, poses little risk as one travels along it. At most, one can only seek longevity and wealth; it is impossible to dominate the world, let alone gather a following. No matter how profound one's true energy may be, it holds little significance.
"You and your sister were born here; why didn't you say it was broken back then?" Li Guangzong glared at his son
"Yes. I will trouble Uncle He again." Li Guangzong nodded in response
I helped them channel a stream of genuine energy to clear their meridians. If no one assists them, it would take them at least three to five years to achieve this on their own
This technique is titled "The Sutra of Induction". The earlier content resembles that of Buddhism, but as one progresses further, it becomes increasingly obscure and difficult to comprehend. Moreover, the paragraphs do not connect with each other at all, and the text is severely fragmented.
After a moment, he leaped down from the mountaintop, returned to the crowd, pointed to a cliff a hundred zhang away, and asked Li Guangzong, "Can we build the house there"
When he spoke these words, everyone looked at him with understanding in their eyes, naturally grasping his meaning. Cultivation emphasizes talent and comprehension; although Li Fulü had a good temperament, he was utterly lacking in these two aspects. Li Guangzong, feeling embarrassed, went to negotiate the price with the shopkeeper. Xie Xiaoyu idly flipped through one of the twenty-odd incomplete books.
Once again, a flash of lightning streaked across the sky, this time at an extremely close distance, the thunder seemingly exploding right beside him. He felt a jolt in his heart, and the previously seamless sword technique suddenly revealed a flaw.
After having dinner early, Li Guangzong called over several fellow villagers who had decided to accompany him to the mine. In addition, there were also the actor and Erzi, both of whom were his good brothers
"Your skills are truly remarkable; you must be from a martial arts sect, right?" Captain Zhang cautiously inquired after offering a toast. This was not difficult to deduce. At such a young age, possessing such abilities, one could either be a scion of a prominent family or a member of a martial arts sect. If he were indeed from a prominent family, it would be impossible for him to be out here alone.
I have also heard about it, but I do not know the specific location. Li Guangzong became spirited. Although he is frugal, he understands the principle that good steel should be used on the cutting edge. If he had not obtained a set of skills and developed some abilities, he would probably have ended up similar to Erzi and the others.
Martial arts with similar characteristics all belong to the category of supreme secret techniques, yet he has never mentioned this "Sixfold Method"
This illustrates the disparity between individuals. They strive for every bit of strength possible, aiming to survive more easily, while Xie Xiaoyu's gaze is fixed upward.
As a cultivator, the greatest dream is to obtain a good cultivation method. Although elixirs and magical tools are also important, the most fundamental aspect remains the cultivation method
It is a mountain range, winding and twisting, stretching over several miles, with the landing point situated in a valley. Beyond the valley lies the settlement
Li Fulv also reached out his hand to take a book
The box was opened, revealing it was neatly filled with small booklets. These booklets are not very thick, most of them containing only twenty to thirty pages.
Wait a moment," Xie Xiaoyu quickly intervened
"Farting! This is how respect is shown; otherwise, how could the mine owner be so easy to talk to? Signing a short contract is completely different from signing a regular contract. Once we sign a short contract, we can leave whenever we want, while a regular contract would incur penalties." Li Guangzong justified his arrangements, as he had to uphold his authority
The old man lazily stood up, walked into the room, took a contract from the drawer of the table, and returned to the courtyard, saying: "Let's sign a short contract. I won't restrict you; just let me know whenever you want to leave."
This large box contains no less than a thousand books. Even if one were to merely glance at each and discard them, it would still take some time. Therefore, by the time all the books have been looked through, more than an hour has already passed
When the sun rose, the first flying ship arrived, but unfortunately it was not the one they were waiting for. The flying ships ascended and descended quite frequently. Sometimes one would arrive every fifteen minutes, yet none were the ship they awaited. It was not until the sun reached its zenith that the flying ship they were to board finally arrived.
Upon hearing this, Li Guangzong felt somewhat bewildered and after a long pause, he asked, "Is there a way to complete it?"
The Buddhist school largely does not seek external objects, so when this sword cultivation secret method is practiced to great perfection, there is fundamentally no need to use a sword; with a mere wave of the hand, one can kill invisibly, completely transcending the realm of swordsmanship. After reading through this cultivation method, Xie Xiaoyu felt an overwhelming joy in his heart. His opportunity had arrived
The old miner rarely waved his hand, feeling quite at ease. Over the years, this place has become increasingly desolate, and he has grown more and more idle, having not enjoyed the respect of others for a long time
That person, however, is the favored one, a prodigy in the eyes of the heavens, and the cherished disciple of the sect leader. Their opportunities to meet are rare; in the past, they have not even exchanged words, let alone hold any animosity towards each other
It is another two miles. After leaving the mine, one must return to the residential area
"He Shu, it has been fifteen years since we last met, and you still look so robust." Li Guangzong stepped forward and bowed. The old mine chief did not move, leaning back in his recliner and casting a sidelong glance.
These paragraphs can be rearranged to form an independent scripture. The scripture is not lengthy, totaling only about 1,500 words, and the language is exceptionally concise, making it obscure and difficult to understand when separated. It records a profound and mysterious sword cultivation secret method, which, although related to swordsmanship, contains Buddhist principles, and is titled "The Six Suchnesses"
It was different from truly falling asleep; he could sense everything around him. First, he felt someone walking back and forth, then he sensed the hatch of the flying ship closing, and finally, the flying ship began to ascend slowly
The "Purple Mansion Heavenly Codex" he had previously practiced was quite ordinary, with the only benefit being the ability to cultivate using his life-bound magical artifact. A person nurtures the magical artifact, and in turn, the magical artifact nurtures the person. Unfortunately, before he was assigned here, that magical artifact was reclaimed by the sect. Although he could still cultivate without the life-bound magical artifact, the speed would be as slow as a snail. In his plan, he originally intended to work as a laborer in the mine for a while, gather some materials, and forge a magical artifact himself to re-nurture it. However, that is no longer necessary.
Are we really going to live here?" Li Fulv regretted it. Had he known the mine was in such a dilapidated state, he would have stayed in the city
Xie Xiaoyu formed a hand seal with both hands, raised it before her eyes, and brushed her fingertips across her eyelids. When she opened her eyes again, the outside world had completely transformed.
This is highly likely. The teachings of Buddhism are quite peculiar; at times, one must sever emotional ties and eliminate the six roots, or achieve a state of no sorrow, no joy, no anger, no greed, and no hatred. Someone like him, with impure six roots and a heart full of resentment, is certainly not suitable. As soon as he thought of this, Xie Xiaoyu felt a bit hesitant. But then he recalled the sword from his dream, and instantly became filled with fervor.
The power of lightning is truly terrifying; one can understand this simply by observing the blinding flashes of light and the heart-pounding thunder. However, those who are actually struck by lightning likely do not have the opportunity to see the light or hear the thunder. Upon further investigation, where does such astonishing power originate? The answer becomes clear: it is the clouds, the dark clouds that blanket the sky.
For someone who has just begun their cultivation, it is indeed very difficult to achieve this. After all, Xie Xiaoyu has been cultivating for seven years and has already established a solid foundation, so it only took her a little over a minute to enter the state.
Xie Xiaoyu walked out of the room in a daze, picked up her belongings in a daze, followed the crowd outside in a daze, bid farewell to everyone in a daze, and arrived at the place outside the West City where the flying ships take off and land in a daze
"What are you going to do?" asked Xie Xiaoyu in surprise
That is not a true dream; it is different from a real dream. Apart from himself, nothing can be seen in the dream.
His strength was considerable; with a single strike of the pickaxe, large chunks of rock would break away. Although his results were satisfactory, he felt no joy whatsoever. In the past, he could simply unleash his magical tools to shatter mountains and split stones, carving out the caverns he desired in the time it took to brew a cup of tea. Now, however, he could only rely on brute force, laboring like a common worker.
When one's abilities are lacking, one can make use of books... Xie Xiaoyu glanced at Li Fulü. This fellow is simple-minded and naive. He quickly changed his tone and said: "If it's not too expensive, then let's buy it. It might be useful for a long time."
When Li Guangzong left Tianbao Prefecture, he was only in his twenties, having established a family and a career, and even achieved financial success, with both sons and daughters. He was indeed full of vigor. Fifteen years later, upon his return, he had entered middle age, accompanied by his family. Even if his appearance had not changed, he was no longer recognizable.
The columns and beams are made of the same moso bamboo, the walls are constructed with the same mud bricks, and there is a courtyard in the center, surrounded by a six-story building. However, this place is not intended for residential use; it is entirely filled with shops.
"Elder brother, how is this book?" Li Fulv asked, holding a copy of "The Nine Heavens Taoist Scriptures of the Divine and Mysterious Treasures." The cover of this book was adorned with gold paper, and all the characters were written in cinnabar, clearly indicating its value. No wonder Li Fulv was so intrigued.
He copied the scriptures in small regular script on paper, but not in full; rather, he selected those obscure and difficult passages.
This book is somewhat better than the previous one; it resembles a technique, yet it is somewhat misleading, with many parts altered. The modified techniques may be practicable, but he does not wish to take that risk
In an instant, various memories from the past surged to the forefront of his mind, causing his heart to become increasingly chaotic. At one moment, he recalled his master's indifferent gaze, and at another, he saw the scene of his master pleading on his behalf.
He noticed something unusual after only copying half a sheet of paper
In the dream, he still dances with the sword. Back in the sect, he practiced and worked without interruption, and when it came to perseverance, he was undoubtedly the first.
Having spoken, he leaped towards a small mountain a hundred zhang away. In just a few bounds, he reached the summit, standing at the very top to survey the surroundings
No one can clearly see how lightning streaks across the sky; what people observe is a fleeting shadow that spans the horizon, followed by the rumbling of thunder
It is impossible to be guilty of possessing a treasure, as Xie Xiaoyu does not believe there is anything about her that others would covet. It is even less likely that someone would seize love by force; she has neither childhood friends nor admirers, nor any women who admire her. To know the answer, she must return to the Central Plains and confront that person face to face. To return to the Central Plains, one must possess strength
Such strangeness, it is unclear whether it is due to the "Six Suchness Method" or his own reasons. Could it be that practicing the "Six Suchness Method" requires certain preconditions? Xie Xiaoyu felt a bit uneasy in her heart
Xie Xiaoyu has a good impression of this foolish boy, Li Fulu, and quickly tries to smooth things over: "Not everything in this book is false; the few types of thunder techniques in the appendix are real and can be practiced for fun"
He has arranged the Four Symbols Convergence Spirit Formation
"How can we afford to think so far ahead? Moreover, how many people can truly achieve mastery?" Li Guangzong said bitterly
"After having a meal, it's just the right time to digest. Brother Zhang, I trouble you to lead the way." Xie Xiaoyu was full of energy. He was absolutely confident in himself; the false techniques could deceive others' eyes, but they could not deceive him.
The ephemeral purple energy within him has completely dissipated, yet the transformed true energy amounts to less than thirty percent of the original. The conversion of true energy must incur some loss, but such a significant loss is absolutely abnormal. The only explanation is that the quality of the transformed true energy is considerably superior.
Let others continue meditating, and Xie Xiaoyu returned to his own room. This was originally the residence of the Erzi family, which has now been vacated for this esteemed person to stay.
Other matters can wait; first, we must visit the mine head to sign the contract and affix our fingerprints. The mine is located two miles from the residential area, and the sound of clanging can be heard from afar. The first sight is a row of stone houses, mostly single-story, with only one three-story building. Li Guangzong led the group directly to that low building. Upon entering, they found it to be quite desolate, with only a thin, elderly man in his fifties sitting in a rocking chair in the courtyard. To his left was a shabby little table, on which sat a teapot and teacups.
Practicing the "Strength Master Sutra" does not require any qualifications or resources; it only demands perseverance, making it most suitable for those stubborn individuals.
Upon realizing that complaints were futile, Li Guangzong had no choice but to change the subject, saying: "We are going to the mine; you can forge any copperware you desire there. They have all kinds of materials, and they are inexpensive."
The paper and pages of the book caught fire, quickly turning into a pile of ashes. He waved his hand to sweep the ashes out of the window and sat cross-legged at the head of the bed.
We will stay here for at most six months, in order to give you some practice and familiarize yourselves with the mine. An old mine has its advantages; everything is readily available. Li Guangzong recalled the hardships he faced when he first arrived here. If someone had guided him from the beginning, everything would have gone much more smoothly. These brats are all oblivious to the blessings they have.
The person with the surname Lu was originally quite astute. Upon hearing the term "guest," followed by "honored guest," he immediately understood that the visitors were not ordinary. He quickly led them to the front of the shop and bent down to retrieve a box from beneath the counter.
"If you need to say something, just let me know, right?" Li Guangzong was extremely frustrated. He had already realized that all the trouble he caused yesterday was just to create these few bronze artifacts
Xie Xiaoyu nodded. He did not intend to say much more, so he quickly changed the subject and asked Li Guangzong: "Brother Li, it seems that you are practicing the 'Thunder Technique'. You can hold back even before mastering it, which should be the method of the Long family from Jingxi. What is your relationship with the Long family from Jingxi?"
Li Guangzong was too preoccupied to pay attention to his son; at this moment, his eyes were entirely focused on the seven volumes of martial arts. These seven volumes were "Great Wheel Treasure Image Stupa," "Eighteen Hells of the Underworld Ghost Talisman," "Supreme Clarity Great Void Secret Record," "Northern Sea Profound Ice Great Method," "Five Elements Classic: Thick Earth Chapter," "Five Elements Classic: Sharp Metal Chapter," and "Warrior's Classic."
"Enough, don't mind me. Go and bring out all your good stuff; we have esteemed guests here." Captain Zhang cast a glance at Xie Xiaoyu.
"You all sit cross-legged, and I will help you open your meridians," Li Guangzong said to the others. Everyone, including the actors and Erzi, complied.
He read the scripture from beginning to end twice, and he could be certain that it was not a false thing, yet he always felt something was amiss. The entire scripture is divided into two distinctly different parts; one part is smooth and easy to understand, while the other part is foolishly obscure. Xie Xiaoyu lit an oil lamp and rummaged under the bed to find a clay inkstone, a worn brush, a half-used ink stick, and several sheets of yellow paper. The paper was brought back by the second son from the pharmacy, exuding a strong medicinal smell. Xie Xiaoyu shook his head and said, "You should change to another cultivation method and start over. Given your current foundation, it should be quite easy for you to re-cultivate, and you might even achieve something significant." After saying this, he quickly added, "I am unable to assist you with this matter. The sect has rules, and cultivation methods cannot be passed on. When I joined the sect back then, I made a great vow against my inner demons."
"So are we still coming to the picture book here?" Li Fulv mumbled.
A layer of faint mist has settled on the ground. As the wind swirls, the disordered houses emit a subtle black vapor, yet it is suppressed by the mist, unable to spread in all directions, and can only converge into streams flowing towards the periphery of the mist
The contents within are merely a forced assembly. Following it for practice would not only yield no results, but there is an eight or nine out of ten chance of becoming obsessed with it.
As with last night, a banquet was set up in the courtyard again, but there were significantly fewer tables, and the person seated in the main position had changed. Xie Xiaoyu confidently took the main seat, with Li Guangzong and the actor on the left, and Captain Zhang on the right.
However, the old miner also recognized that this was an acquaintance, certainly someone who had worked here before. A person of his age inevitably has some nostalgia.
In the dream, his sword slowed down, swirling around and giving an exceptionally heavy feeling. It was unclear how much time had passed when the sword moved; it was so fast that it vanished from sight, leaving only a trace of sword light lingering in the air. The dream shattered, and that sudden flash of sword light instantly broke the dream, causing him to awaken. Upon opening his eyes, he saw that the night outside was deep, and he realized it was already midnight without noticing. In an instant, he sensed that something was amiss; his entire body felt a fluctuation of energy and blood, and his heart was also in turmoil. This did not resemble the state of someone just emerging from meditation.
Indeed! After finishing work every day, I still have to climb so high. A short person stared blankly at the cliff and complained
The mood has become increasingly gloomy, and the dreams have also undergone changes. What was once a dream devoid of anything has gradually become overcast with dark clouds. Suddenly, a flash of lightning streaks across, followed by the rumble of thunder, and then a torrential downpour begins.
I specifically recommend the "Lishi Jing" because this practice is most suitable for you. During the day, when you are mining in the shafts, you can use the "Lishi Jing" to increase your strength while also training your power. In the evening, when you return, you can meditate to cultivate your energy, simultaneously restoring your physical strength, complementing each other without wasting any time. No other practice offers such benefits.
Li Guangzong has a good heart, but he is not a fool. Others who wish to cultivate themselves can read books on their own; he is not stingy in this regard. However, it is impossible to expect him to provide guidance.
For six years, he has been striving to please his master, yet the master has remained indifferent towards him. However, at the critical moment, the master still lent him a hand, so he was merely exiled and did not lose all his cultivation.
Everything appeared very hazy, as if looking out through a veil, and also reminiscent of the blurred vision after drinking. However, no matter what happened outside, it did not affect his cultivation or fortune, nor did it interfere with his practice of sword techniques in the dream.
He still harbors a degree of respect for his master, but he feels no fondness for others. Not to mention those who conspired against him, he is also filled with resentment towards several of his fellow disciples in the scripture repository. It was precisely their testimonies that made this wrongful accusation indisputable.
Xie Xiaoyu took out a book and flipped through it. It contained both text and images. After taking another glance, he casually tossed the booklet aside.
Xie Xiaoyu may lack other qualities, but he is absolutely not deficient in diligence and perseverance. He began his training at the age of eight and devoted six years to relentless practice day and night. Although his abilities can only be considered average among his peers, the depth of his true energy ranks in the top ten. From this perspective, his master’s decision to teach him the "Purple Mansion Heavenly Codex" can be seen as a case of teaching according to the student's aptitude
They are all quite similar, not exactly rare techniques, but they are not bad either; they are all of a simple and easy-to-practice type, "Xie Xiaoyu commented.
He closed the door and windows, then took out the "Book of Induction" and began to study it carefully
"The output of this mine has been decreasing year by year in recent years. Are you really going to work here?" the old man asked
He summoned these individuals to request Xie Xiaoyu to explain the "Lishi Jing" once. Li Guangzong is most aware of the differences involved
Within the sect, there are also several sword techniques renowned for their speed and sharpness, akin to the single sword in his dream that only exists between the two realms of dreams. However, in the "Sixfold Method," electricity is merely one of the six methods, and it ranks last, with the preceding ones being Dream, Illusion, Bubble, Shadow, and Dew. Just based on this single sword, he no longer harbors any doubts; the "Sixfold Method" must undoubtedly be a supreme secret technique. Upon further introspection, he becomes even more certain of this.
What is this? It's so heavy. Li Guangzong frowned
The cave is not large, shaped like a water ladle, with an entrance that is three feet wide and five feet high. His stature is small, just enough to fit inside, while individuals like Li Guangzong and those few foolish boys must bow their heads and bend their waists to enter. Inside is a stone chamber, at its widest point measuring no more than ten feet, empty and desolate, resembling a monk's meditation room.
In a state of ecstasy, he performed more than ten somersaults in succession, shouting and exclaiming loudly, releasing all the sorrow and resentment that had accumulated in his heart over the past year
The Western White Tiger belongs to "Metal," which governs killing and warfare. The spiritual energy emanates from there, naturally infused with a fierce metallic aura. Generally, ordinary people cannot endure it, but it is perfectly suitable for sword cultivators.
"Fifty-four taels of silver, pay up." The soldier at the scales extended his hand
It is not necessary to meditate in a seated position; one can lie down, sit, or stand, and practice at any time and place without worrying about the misdirection of vital energy or the dangers of falling into obsession. This is another characteristic unique to supreme secret methods
Wherever the black mist passes, it is best not to touch it; he seeks a place dense with fog. At this moment, the technique he employs is called "Observing the Heavens and Penetrating the Depths Technique," a method for stargazing and sensing the atmosphere. Before arriving in Tianbao Prefecture, he spent all his savings to acquire this technique, and now it has indeed proven useful.
Xie Xiaoyu listened quietly; this was a world entirely different from his previous living environment. This resourceful constable had been leading them to the top floor.
After boarding the ship, a group of foolish young men who had just arrived from Middle-earth could not sit still and all rushed to the ship's railing to gaze out. Xie Xiaoyu had little interest. Although he was the youngest, he behaved like an old man, appearing indifferent to everything. He found a dim corner, leaned against it, and began to regulate his breath and cultivate his energy. He did not expect to achieve a meditative state, yet within just a short while, he had already entered a state of half-dreaming and half-awake.
There is a circle of fences around the vacant land, and four soldiers stand in front of the gate, guarding a weighing scale. Xie Xiaoyu is very familiar with this weighing scale. When they set off from the Central Plains, everyone had to weigh their luggage before boarding the ship, with every pound and ounce being counted for money
Xie Xiaoyu's previous true energy was indeed profound, which may be the only merit of the "Purple Mansion Heavenly Talisman." To be fair, the "Purple Mansion Heavenly Talisman" is not considered poor. The unity of man and instrument, nurturing the instrument with the person and nurturing the person with the instrument, as long as one has the patience to cultivate steadily, there is almost no need to worry about encountering bottlenecks; it is entirely a broad and smooth path
Li Guangzong looked puzzled and glanced at the cliff path: "That's fine, but it's not very easy to go up and down"
