Description:

"Lian Sheng" tells the story of certain events that are perpetually elusive and certain individuals who are intrinsically connected. Nineteen-year-old Lu Qingye, while working in a restaurant, encounters Song Ximing, who is eight years his senior. At that time, they are strangers, each harboring their own inner worlds. Lu Qingye is a law student at a university in Shanghai; his father is imprisoned for a crime, and his mother is in poor health. Despite the hardships he faces, Lu Qingye is tenacious, seizing every opportunity to learn and earn money. In the summer that follows, Lu Qingye travels to Beijing to participate in a volunteer program for Sino-Japanese cultural exchange, where he discovers that the program leader is none other than Song Ximing. This leads to new interactions and a deeper understanding between them. However, Lu Qingye is compelled to return home early due to family matters.

She met Song Ximing again due to an exchange program in France. During the journey, they traveled together to France, where Song Ximing shared with Lu Qingye various aspects of his past love, Chen Jiuqun, and the love he failed to protect. Song Ximing was not as she had perceived; although born into a wealthy family, he lacked freedom, and love was an absurd luxury. However, he was unafraid and chose his own path. Lu Qingye felt grateful for the opportunities and dreams Song Ximing provided her, while also yearning to meet Chen Jiuqun. The unknown attraction between them was about to ignite; it was neither tragic nor intense, but rather like a gentle nibble, irresistible. Two individuals, initially unrelated, found themselves connected in this way. Their future was not smooth. Having experienced a failed romance, Song Ximing carried some psychological scars, and his father was unwilling to let go easily. Should they abandon their divergence or persist in moving forward? Ultimately, the dilemma faced by the two required both to bear its weight.
