Chapter 007: Using Language to Compensate for Aggressiveness
Enhancing the aggressiveness of swordsmanship through language
Xu Zhenren handed the long sword in his hand to Xu Lang
Upon hearing this, Xu Zhenren's thoughts were stirred, causing him to slightly narrow his eyes. After a moment, he simply shook his head and said, "As for their matters, you will naturally come to know in the future."
I have several senior brothers
Xu Lang nodded; being able to gather the innate skills was nothing short of excellent for him. Master Xu's words also pointed him in a direction, but acquiring the signature divine skills of these sects would likely not be an easy task
Secondly, do not engage in wrongdoing
Wang Yangming was able to comprehend the grand form of techniques, thereby gaining insight into the opponent's intentions and striking to defeat the enemy in one blow. This exemplifies the extraordinary talent in the art of strategy. However, now, upon hearing Xu Lang's words, Master Xu feels that Xu Lang is a genius in the realm of techniques.
Teaching a genius and teaching a fool are completely different experiences
My days are numbered
You are indeed a rare genius in the martial arts
Xu Lang said: "This set of swordsmanship lacks sufficient aggressiveness; therefore, when facing an enemy, one must use words to add a bit of aggressiveness to this set of swordsmanship"
One cannot chew more than one can digest
Xu Lang hurriedly exclaimed: "Whatever martial arts you have, feel free to entrust them to me. I have already delayed too much time on the path of martial arts. As long as you are willing to teach, I will definitely study diligently."
After breakfast, Master Xu began to instruct Xu Lang, saying: "The martial arts of our sect primarily focus on subtle techniques, drawing from the Daoist principles of tranquility and non-action, using softness to overcome hardness. Generally, the application of these techniques is intricate and delicate, concealing power within gentleness. With ordinary practice, one can harness the power of martial arts in three to five years, but to attain the transformation of the Dao and reach the pinnacle of mastery, one must delve into the Daoist scriptures."
In the realm of martial arts, there exist clumsy techniques and nimble techniques. When comparing these two types of skills, clumsy techniques tend to possess greater power, while nimble techniques are stronger in practical combat. For this reason, the mainstream in the martial world predominantly consists of nimble techniques. If someone were to engage in combat with them using clumsy techniques, they would inevitably find themselves at a disadvantage in various aspects
This is akin to the distinction between martial arts levels and martial arts tiers in the Xu Lang system. The martial arts level refers to the skills one possesses, while the martial arts tier determines whether a particular martial art can truly reach its pinnacle.
Master
Xu Zhenren extended his hand with a flick, and the treasured sword responded with a sound, rising into the air. As his figure flowed and shifted, the sword radiated a brilliant light, moving neither hastily nor slowly, with each move and technique clear and distinct. It spun left and right, turning and floating, capable of gliding like a gentle breeze brushing against willows, yet also able to strike swiftly like a flash of lightning
After a night of conversation, Wang Yangming gained clarity and was free of other distractions in his mind. At dawn, he set off for Guizhou, while Xu Lang, at that moment, remained at Yunxia Temple, beginning his systematic training in martial arts under the guidance of Master Xu Shuan.
Xu Zhenren stroked his beard and asked Xu Lang, "How many moves have you memorized?"
With such a system at his disposal, Xu Lang is not afraid of being unable to learn any martial arts.
Xu Lang extended his hand, gripping the long sword. As he rotated his wrist, he felt that the sword was somewhat heavy. However, having practiced basic sword techniques, he skillfully twirled the sword, moving his body in sync. The sword danced gracefully, imitating various styles, alternating between swift and slow movements, without a single misstep, as he executed the entire set of sword techniques.
Understood
Xu Zhenren looked at Xu Lang with a strange expression
... ... play around.
All remembered. And the book
Internal Skill: Innate Skill Fragment [Purple] [Second Level] [Third Level], Divine Illumination Classic [Purple] Basic Stance Skill [White]
Xu Lang candidly stated
If I had been able to understand this back in the day, I would not have been constrained in every confrontation, nor would I have even doubted the power of this sword technique
Firstly, in the future, you are to travel to the Huashan Sect, the Yushan Sect, the Namo Sect, and the Suishan Sect, to search for the remnants of the Xiantian Gong or to seek out their most profound internal martial arts.
Upon hearing Xu Lang's words, Xu Zhenren's eyes first displayed a look of confusion, which was then replaced by doubt, followed closely by deep skepticism. However, amidst the skepticism, it seemed he had discovered that this was indeed feasible
Do you understand
Xu Lang nodded upon hearing this, understanding in his heart
Master Xu inquired about the Dao
After finishing the sword technique, Master Xu stood up and said to Xu Lang: "The sword techniques in our sect are derived from Zhuang Zhou's teachings on the sword: 'Show it with emptiness, open it with benefit, follow it with release, and precede it with advantage.' Such sword techniques, when used for attacking and killing in the martial world, yield little result for great effort; however, when used for self-defense and protection, they yield great results for little effort. You must remember this clearly.
Xu Lang humbly stated that he had a system, and when Master Xu was about to teach him, this sword technique was naturally recorded by Xu Lang's system. Subsequently, it was placed under the internal cultivation section. By the time he demonstrated this sword technique, the Dragon Gate Thirty-Six Swords had already reached level two.
Xu Lang did not pursue the matter further upon hearing this
Xu Lang
Xu Zhenren observed Xu Lang using this sword technique in a proper manner and praised him
I do not dare to claim such a title; I am merely a first-rate talent
Very well, today I will first impart to you the Thirty-Six Swords of our Hidden Sect, Longmen.
Xu Zhenren looked at Xu Lang and said with a casual tone: "As for the time you have spent practicing martial arts, it has also been delayed quite a bit. Now that you are not young anymore, even though I have hastily taken you as my disciple, I will impart all my knowledge to you. However, there are two things you must remember above all else"
Xu Lang has been longing for the Jianwen treasures of Nanjing, but does not wish to spend two or three years learning skills in this mountain
However, he is after all a kind gentleman, possessing true virtue, and therefore, even though he knows that words can make swordsmanship aggressive, he absolutely refuses to implement it.
Xu Lang hurriedly asked
Internal cultivation: Dragon Gate Thirty-Six Swords [Blue], Innate Skill Fragment [Purple]
The esteemed master said: "Otherwise, your senior brother will surely kill you"
Xu Lang nodded, understanding that the Dragon Gate Thirty-Six Swords likely aimed to create an opening and then strike decisively, with the entire set of sword techniques exhibiting significantly less aggressiveness
Just like the Zixia Divine Skill of the Huashan Sect, Yue Buqun has always kept it tightly held, even passing it on to Linghu Chong required several tests.
Master Xu said: "In the past, the Patriarch of Chongyang passed down the Seven Disciples of Quanzhen, and each of the Seven Disciples established their own sects. The true transmission of the Primordial Skill was likely torn apart at that time. The Seven Disciples of Quanzhen were among the most remarkable figures in the world, and perhaps the insights they gained regarding the Primordial Skill are hidden there. Once you understand this, you may be able to pass down the true Primordial Skill to me, the lineage of Longmen in seclusion."
This set of sword techniques took me a month to memorize all the essential moves, half a year to be able to perform all thirty-six forms, and twenty years of cultivation to truly comprehend the essence of the swordsmanship, bringing this set of techniques to life
Master Xu said: "Since that is the case, you should practice this sword technique diligently, and then I will teach you other skills."
Xu Lang sincerely listens
