Chapter 3, The Nameless Sword
In the central position of the hall, there sat a middle-aged man dressed in a blue long robe, with a stern appearance. Between his brows, there was the authority typical of a martial artist, yet beneath that authority lay a hint of sorrow.
The Chen family, as one of the four prominent families in Kalan City, has its enterprises spread throughout the city. To claim that they do not have excessive resources to squander would be nothing short of a colossal joke
"Mother" saw the woman, and Chen Tian and his sister quickly walked up, calling out.
Chen Tian's father, Chen Gan, is the third in the Chen family hierarchy and is a half-brother to his second uncle, Chen Yun.
But even so, what does it matter? Now, I am still like Chen Tian, only able to be buried in an unnoticed corner.
"I understand, Mother, I will go now." Chen Tian nodded, then waved his hand to Chen Xueqing before turning to walk towards the hall. When he reached the entrance of the hall, Chen Tian stepped inside.
In the small cabin where Chen Tian resides, there is nothing but a wooden bed and a set of tables and chairs, making the furnishings exceptionally simple. Due to being tightly closed for an extended period, the air inside carries an unusual odor
It is precisely for this reason that after Chen Tiancheng became a useless person, his second uncle's family did not hold back on their mockery and ridicule
The room in the Yamato - Picture - Book Hall is not adorned with much decoration; the chairs inside are made of ordinary wood. The potted plants placed on either side of the door, due to lack of care, have begun to turn yellow from their originally lush foliage.
However, not long after he had set off, Chen Tian heard his father's roar coming from behind. When the roar subsided, the sound of objects being smashed followed.
"It doesn't matter; whether or not there is family support is the same." Chen Tian tightened her grip on the small jade bottle, smiled indifferently, and displayed a look of disdain on her small face as she spoke
Although his father did not explain the background and details, Chen Tian was very clear in his mind that this must involve his second uncle's meddling
This sword is named 'Nameless'. It was acquired by Chen Tian when he was seven years old, during a rather fortuitous occasion. At that time, due to his youthful ignorance and laziness in practice, after being reprimanded by his father, he ran to the back mountain in grievance and found this long sword by a small pond.
Upon hearing this, Chen Tian nodded slightly without saying anything. He raised his head to look at the small jade bottle on the table, walked over to pick it up, and sensed the cool aura emanating from the bottle. He thought to himself: "I hope this time it won't disappoint me again"
Upon passing through a small grove, one can see a patch of overgrown land, in the center of which stands a very rudimentary hut made of earth, which is the dwelling of Chen Tian
Well, I will take my leave now
Chen Tian resides at the edge of the back mountain and is not particularly worried about being attacked by magical beasts, as these creatures possess exceptionally strong sensory abilities. The Chen family has four experts at the Spirit Master level, who are capable of detecting the scent of danger, thus deterring the beasts from recklessly intruding.
"Zhi Zhi" walked to the front of the small house, and Chen Tian raised his hand to push open the wooden door. Immediately, a strange odor wafted in, and upon smelling this scent, Chen Tian frowned.
Perhaps it is for this reason that they have had a poor relationship since childhood, and they generally do not show each other a good demeanor when they meet.
In addition to this, this nameless sword possesses another unique feature. Although the sword appears heavy, it is remarkably light, allowing it to be wielded with the same ease as one's own arm.
Stepping forward to push open the heavy door, one sees a woman standing behind it, approximately in her forties. The woman is dressed simply, lacking any air of luxury, yet she exudes a dignified elegance and radiates a maternal glow
The contents of the bottle are the most prestigious profession in the Starry Continent, the alchemist's elixir! This elixir can assist spiritual practitioners in enhancing their cultivation speed, and there are rumors that high-level elixirs can heal severe bodily injuries
As he spoke, Chen Tian grinned widely, tucked the small jade bottle into his sleeve, and then quickly turned to walk out of the hall, heading towards the back mountain of the Chen family.
In fact, Chen Tian knew that his second uncle was afraid that after he reshaped his meridians, he would overshadow his two sons.
Upon seeing the middle-aged man in the hall, Chen Tian quickly walked forward and said
This sword is three feet long, with a silver blade. At the hilt, it is cast with a golden dragon with eight claws. In the eyes of the eight-clawed golden dragon, the characters "Nameless" are engraved. The name of this sword is derived from those two characters.
With a helpless shake of his head, Chen Tian stepped into the small room, turned around to close the wooden door, and then opened the tightly shut window
This person is Lin Yanran, the mother of Chen Tian. She is the daughter of the current head of the Lin family, one of the four prominent families in Kalan City. Sixteen years ago, she married the father of Chen Tian due to the alliance between the Chen and Lin families.
Two years ago, Chen Tian moved to live in the back mountain, where powerful magical beasts come and go in the depths. Therefore, the elders designated that place as a forbidden area for the family
With the book "If you can think this way, that would be even better, now go and give it a try." Chen Gan looked at Chen Tian, sighed, and then waved his hand, saying
Withdrawing his hand, Chen Tian felt a tinge of sadness. Back then, he had used this sword to challenge countless opponents who were stronger than himself.
"Tian'er, the snow has cleared, you are back!" Lin Yanran saw Chen Tian and the others return, and her tightly furrowed brows instantly relaxed. She touched her little head and pointed towards the hall, urging, "Tian'er, hurry up, don't keep your father waiting too long."
"Tian'er, this is the latest third-grade spiritual elixir I have found. You should try it again." Looking at Chen Tian standing in front of him, Chen Xuan raised his hand and pointed to the small jade bottle placed on the square table.
Hearing the noise behind him, Chen Tian's lips curled into a bitter smile. It seemed that this time, his second uncle had gone too far, even provoking the usually mild-tempered Chen Gan. Unconsciously, Chen Tian clenched his hands tightly together
Yet now, one can only survive in a precarious manner, subject to the ridicule of others. Had it been two years ago, those who mocked him would surely have been struck down by his sword.
As for the last words of his father, Chen Tian had little objection. Although stern, Chen Tian believed that this was not his father's true intention
A trace of reluctance flashed in his eyes, and with a struggle in his heart, Chen Xuan sighed and said helplessly: "Tian'er, this is the last opportunity. The family no longer has many resources to squander. If we succeed this time, then good; if not, we will leave it to fate."
This rumor indicates that over the past two years, Chen Tian's father has utilized the family's influence to search extensively for high-grade spiritual elixirs, with the aim of helping Chen Tian reconstruct his meridians
Walking along the mountain path for about fifteen minutes, the two arrived at an ancient and grand house, in front of which were several lush and verdant trees.
Chen Tian's father was quite dissatisfied with the behavior of using family influence to search for spiritual herbs, often expressing his grievances in front of Chen Tian's grandfather.
This person is Chen Tian's father, Chen Gan, one of the four great spiritual masters of the Chen family
Approaching the wooden table, Chen Tian sat on the stool, caressing the silver longsword placed on the table as if he were stroking the body of a beloved.
Although considerable human and material resources have been expended over the past two years to assist Chen Tian in reconstructing his meridians, the total expenditure amounts to less than one percent of the family's income
This nameless sword, although it cannot cut through iron like mud, conceals a little-known secret. As long as Chen Tian wields this nameless sword to activate his spiritual technique, its power will be significantly greater than before
