This marks the first time since the Opium War that the Chinese military has stepped beyond its borders to confront a formidable enemy. The brave and fearless Chinese soldiers, at the cost of their blood and lives, reopened the international lifeline, shattered the Japanese army's dual offensive strategy aimed at annihilating China, and paved the victorious path to Tokyo
