Chapter 7, Magic Scrolls
What is this thing?" Thunder asked, looking at an object resembling a crystal ball.
Step inside and take a look. Thunder's understanding of the world's magic is limited to Colin's memories, which are quite scarce. Upon seeing a shop that is related to himself, he immediately became interested.
Ah? You don't know what this is? The guy's eyes were as wide as eggs. "Guest, don't joke around, this is a magic scroll."
"Get out, get out! Who let you in?" The attendant shouted loudly behind Thunder. Thunder turned his head and saw Uncle Oak and Tifa being driven away by that attendant.
After having breakfast, they set off. Thunder became exhausted in no time, while Tifa, following behind Thunder, walked steadily, cracking sunflower seeds with a crisp sound, showing no signs of fatigue.
The man turned his head and saw this scene, his indifferent expression immediately transformed into one of flattery: "Ah, my lord, you are actually a noble magician?"
Uncle Oak chuckled to himself, saying: "I need to buy a few slaves; when I go out, there’s no one at home to guard the door."
A neatly arranged row of boxes caught Thunder's attention, each of these small boxes contained orderly rolled-up items resembling scrolls
I know the measure of propriety. "Thunder" nodded slightly
"What is the problem with my butler and maid?" Thunder despises such people the most, who bully the weak and are extremely annoying
"Do you want me to buy you some jewelry?" Tifa said, her face turned upwards, while the young girl used a branch to tie her hair up.
"I told you to eat less snacks!" Thunder sat down on the grass beside him, wanting to stick out his tongue like a dog, but felt it would damage his image
What did you bring?" the guy turned back to look at Thunder, asking in confusion
"Come in, everyone, come in, you're blocking the door." Thunder held Tifa by the neck, pulling the little girl inside. Both the uncle and Tifa appeared quite uncomfortable, but Thunder seemed indifferent.
Hey... will it still shine? Thunder chuckled, saying that this thing would be quite good to use as a lamp.
"Less https://m.hetushucom.com, the things inside are very expensive!" Uncle Oak reminded.
"Just going to take a look, not buying anything." Thunder stepped in.
Tifa did not know what she had done wrong as she looked at Uncle Oak
It is estimated that the image of the two attendants is simply too lowly, and the enthusiastic staff just now could not be bothered to pay any attention to Thunder.
As I picked up the crystal ball, which had been completely still, it unexpectedly emanated a radiant glow upon contact
"It's nothing, just on my way," the uncle said, waving his hand.
With the current intensity, you should be an intermediate mage now The man nodded and bowed, his expression filled with utmost respect
Intermediate mage? I haven't unleashed my magical power yet! However, Thunder thinks it is better not to attract too much attention.
Upon the young master's command, Tifa quickly stuffed the sunflower seeds into her pocket
Fairl is a secondary town in the Kingdom of Ceylon, equivalent to a satellite city surrounding the provincial capital
Last night during dinner, Thunder explained to Uncle Oak the meaning of buying slaves, and Uncle Oak had no objections at all
On the road, they encountered a farmer driving a cart. Uncle Oak gave the farmer a few copper coins, and the farmer politely took the three of them to the city of Faier.
Look. Thunder did not pay him any attention, turning his head to look around; there were indeed quite a few novel items, all of which he had never seen before
Thunder took the money pouch off his body and threw it to Tifa. The young girl caught it in a flurry, unsure of what to do.
"Young master, please take a look; we will not go in," Uncle Oak said, rubbing his hands outside.
"Sir, what would you like?" After learning Thunder's identity, the attendant became even more attentive.
Turning my head to look left and right, I see a large store in front, with the words "Magic Supplies Store" written on it
"Here, I'm exhausted." Colin's physical condition is exceptionally poor, to the extent that it is unbearable for Thunder. "Uncle, how much further is it?"
Today, I must go to the slave market together with two individuals from the residence
Dear Mr. Wizard, this crystal ball is actually a product of alchemy. It will only emit light when a wizard picks it up, and the deeper and more extensive the magical power, the stronger the brightness.
A fellow approached with great enthusiasm: "Guest, what do you need?"
Uncle Oak was outside, nervously licking his lips, wearing an awkward expression, while Tifa lowered her head, making it difficult to see her face.
Thunder nodded slightly and placed the crystal ball back.
After getting off the car, Thunder looked at Tifa and Uncle Oak and said, "We should buy a few pieces of clothing; just look at what this little girl is wearing, neither human nor ghost."
"We have only traveled halfway," Uncle Oak replied. "Let's buy a horse later, it should cost around ten gold coins, so you won't have to run back and forth, young master."
"Young Master..." Tifa timidly stepped forward, turned her back to Thunder, and squatted down, saying: "I will carry you!"
Tifa is wearing the cheapest linen clothes, with several patches, and even Uncle Oak is the same. Only Thunder's clothes, although a bit old, do not look so shabby.
So that's how it is. Thunder nodded; Colin's memory did not contain these things. It is likely that this spendthrift has no talent for learning magic and has never paid attention to this matter at all
"No." The guy looked at Thunder One and the book with suspicion, murmuring softly, "Why are you wearing such tattered clothes?"
"What are you doing?" Thunder grabbed his companion by the collar and held him back
Rising early, Thunder went to the yard to exercise. As a magician, one must not let their physical condition deteriorate. Thunder no longer needs to meditate like other magicians, thus saving time unconsciously
The town of Faier is quite a distance from home, according to my memory, it seems to be about 10 miles away, and walking would take about an hour
Who is being so rude? Thunder felt extremely embarrassed, and in a fit of pique, stood up, brushed off the dust from his pants, and strode forward.
The target of the Thunder Trio this time is the slave trading post in Faier Town. In this era, the price of slaves is exceedingly low; one can purchase the lowest tier for just one gold coin.
"I don't understand!" Thunder looked at his companion with confusion
What is this? Thunder curiously picked one up and immediately felt a faint wave of magical energy.
Tifa quickly waved her hand, and Uncle Oak beside her also said: "Young master, do not spoil the child, or it will develop bad habits."
