The Past Is Now

If one cannot emerge from past memories, then one is wasting today

Understanding the causes and effects that have occurred

Thus, one acknowledges the evils one has once committed; thus, one admits to having harbored those naive hopes; thus, one is astonished to discover that some of the harm inflicted was also caused by oneself, resulting in wrong outcomes despite good intentions

Thus, I laughed and cried

Then I understood the sadness and joy of the past, which were neither as despairing as I had thought nor as pure and flawless as I had dreamed

The past is just the past; one should focus on how to get through today. This is the way to master the future
