Chapter 7, Meeting
After a pause of two seconds, Velak got out of the car and, under Fletcher's guidance, was led from the main entrance of the residence all the way to the spacious living room
I know this, I saw it in the brochure. "Villac nodded, "Mr. Kamein and Mrs. Melar have three children, namely Keleman, Chris, and Julia.
Villac's head glanced towards the car window: "I am looking forward to it."
Villac did not respond, as his attention was drawn to a convoy of horse-drawn carriages passing by outside. The first few carriages were equipped with long ladders, while the latter ones carried enormous water tanks. As they passed, pedestrians hurriedly made way, clearing a spacious passage.
The living room is set in a classical artistic style, featuring exquisite design, luxury, and comfort
After exiting the station, they were led by a bodyguard to a black car. Although Lazer had become extremely prosperous, there were still not many cars on the streets, with horse-drawn carriages remaining the mainstream mode of transport.
"Let’s go, the car is already arranged outside." Fletcher patted Velak on the back with one hand, gently urging him forward
Villac knew that this was the residence of the Kamein family. This building, which appears to perfectly blend classical and contemporary styles, is highly favored by the nobles of Lezein
The driver in the driver's seat uttered a sound of acknowledgment: "Mr. Kamain, Mrs. Melaf, Miss Kellerman, and Miss Julia have been waiting for quite some time."
Sitting in the car, Velak looked towards the "luxurious palace" through the open car door, and what met his eyes was a scene of murkiness
"Sir, Madam." Fletcher slightly bowed, greeting Carmine and Mela
Understood. "Villac" Road
This car is truly impressive. I have only seen a few scattered ones in the downtown area of Zward, but those are clearly not as good as this one. Before his rebirth, Velak couldn't even drive this car smoothly, let alone ride in it. However, at this moment, under Fletcher's gaze that mixed anticipation with disdain, he still had to pretend to be very curious, his eyes darting around inside the car, and his hands unconsciously caressing the car's body
In the spacious living room, on the sofa directly facing the entrance, sat Carmine, dressed in a white shirt and brown vest, alongside Mela, who wore a high-waisted skirt. On either side of them were Keleman and Julia, both of whom were also dressed in similarly elegant long dresses.
Since arriving in Lezain, Fletcher has noticeably become much more attentive. In this city, Velak is Chris, and Fletcher is the steward. Their outwardly displayed social statuses are different; if Fletcher were to maintain a polite yet contemptuous attitude towards Velak, it could lead to unnecessary trouble
After Fletcher finished speaking, Carmen remained silent as well, and the living room was terrifyingly quiet and oppressive
Hehe. As expected, after saying this, Fletcher let out a disdainful laugh, "In the future, you will encounter many things that you have never even heard of on your side."
"Organize the clothes again." In Fletcher's mind, even if Velak donned this expensive and eye-catching outfit, he would still be regarded as a lowly, impoverished provincial boy. Therefore, it was not that Velak's current attire was untidy or inappropriate, but rather that his habitual mindset made him feel somewhat out of place.
"It is the fire brigade, there must be a fire somewhere." Fletcher Road, and then to pass the boring travel time, introduced some very famous attractions, "There is a very famous arch bridge over the Mena River. Continuing north, there are Clayton Gardens, People's Square, and the Palace of Montserrat..."
Miss Kellerman and Miss Julia are the eldest and second daughters of Mr. Kaimen and Mrs. Melah. After hearing this, Fletcher explained the relationships to Velak
"Alright, it's time to get out, Master Chris." Fletcher exited the vehicle first and opened the door for Velak
The elegant decorations on the walls, the dazzling array of collectibles, the intricately exquisite carpets, the brilliantly radiant crystal chandeliers, and the magnificent sofas all reflect the nobility of the Thomas family. However, after living here for two months, Velak still cannot distinguish what type of wood the seemingly expensive wooden furniture is made of, nor can he discern the artistic value of these objects
Fletcher slightly lowered his hat: "You must remember, from now on you are Thomas Chris. Those two, at least on the surface, no longer have any connection with you. It makes no sense for them to travel with you now, so I will first arrange for them to be in a safe place"
The car entered the mansion district and finally stopped in front of a luxurious residence
After Velak entered, Fletcher sat beside him and casually closed the car door. Once the accompanying bodyguard took his seat in the front passenger position, the car started and drove off in a certain direction
Understood. Velak showed no signs of fluctuation, and after a brief pause, he leisurely adjusted his collar in a symbolic manner
"Get in the car." Fletcher opened the rear door for Velak.
Fletcher Road: "This is Most Vilarak, who hails from the impoverished area of Tzward in Joseph County, and he is the substitute for Master Chris whom we have come to find on this trip"
Everything felt out of place with Velak, but after he stepped into this place again with an unprecedented feeling, he silently vowed to himself that he would also live comfortably in such a place in the future
Before getting off the car, Fletcher gave his final instructions: "Your identity is not known to many people, even within the residence. I believe you understand that the fewer people who know, the better. Therefore, once you enter, aside from meeting the Kamein family and me privately, you must maintain the image of Chris in front of anyone else."
The crowd at the train station bustles with activity, representing just the tip of the iceberg of this dazzling city's prosperity. Standing there, Velak could faintly sense the undercurrents of this city.
What about them?" While stepping forward, Velak turned his head to look back.
"Let's not think about such distant matters for now. Mr. Kamein should be waiting already, right?" Fletcher said
Fletcher displayed a satisfied expression: "Very good. Mr. Kamein should be pleased with you"
Understood. The two brief words that escaped Velak's lips were still the same.
Villac did not want to provoke Kamein's displeasure, so he chose not to make eye contact. Instead, like Fletcher, he bowed slightly and expressed his humility as much as possible: "It is an honor to meet you, Mr. Kamein"
Villac knew that he did not yet have the ability to keep Nord and Dempsey by his side, so he could only follow Fletcher's arrangements.
This place was once a royal square several hundred years ago, and later it was transformed into a district of noble mansions. We are almost there, and when we meet Mr. Kaimen later, be mindful of your attitude and wording. Although you are disguised as Chris, you must always remember that you are not the real Chris
After a period of time, the car drove into a luxury residential area
