Zhao Cheng, a freshman in the history department of a university, accidentally travels back to the year 1206 in Mongolia, mysteriously appearing in Genghis Khan's golden tent. The story primarily begins in the spring of 1218. As a Han person raised among the Mongols, the various events he hears and witnesses place him in the presence of some of the most powerful figures in Mongolia and even the world, yet the seeds of rebellion have long been sown in his heart
