In the final years of the chaotic Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, during the third year of the Xian De era of the Later Zhou (AD 956), the Zhou army advanced into Huainan, engaging in plunder and treating the populace with utter disregard. The people were filled with despair, gathering in the mountains and marshes, building fortifications to protect themselves, wielding farming tools as weapons, and accumulating paper for armor. At that time, they were referred to as the White Armor Army. The Zhou army launched attacks but was repeatedly defeated.

Xu Haoyue traversed to this era, carrying the emotional scars from his previous life. In the midst of chaos, he only wished to preserve himself and recover his lost memories. He encountered a descendant of Ying Bu, the King of Huainan from the early Han dynasty, a formidable woman who commanded the 81 strongholds of Huainan.
