Prologue

Dark Small Medium Large Original Scroll to Bottom

Then Lan dropped her phone, smashed a vase, tore apart a pillow, causing a room full of duck down to fly everywhere. In the end, still not feeling satisfied, she picked up a baseball bat from the corner and swung it fiercely at the gaming pod.

This was clearly not a suitable time for contact, yet she was not angry; rather, she felt a bit grateful for the call that had rescued her from the dream. The dream of smashing the game pod had entangled her for an entire month, starting every day as soon as she fell asleep, continuing to smash until she woke up, which was exhausting

Her hands went numb from the shock, and the baseball bat nearly slipped from her grip. Looking at the gaming pod, the streamlined silver-white body was surprisingly free of any dents. Indeed, as advertised, it was made of aerospace-grade alloy, fully enclosed, resistant to violent damage, and completely safe.

Lying on the bed in a daze for a while, I lost track of time, until a sudden urgent ringing of the phone broke the silence

Then Lan curled up in the blanket and did not move

The room has once again returned to the tranquility that should exist before dawn, as those blue eyes gaze clearly at the ceiling, yet there is no longer any desire to continue sleeping.

Beneath the window lay a silver-white gaming pod, identical in shape to that in www.hetushu.com. She extended her fingertip and gently glided along the streamlined body of the pod. Upon feeling the faint coolness, her mood suddenly became somewhat complex

How outrageous! This is hardly a gaming pod; it could practically serve as a bank vault!

Then Lan got out of bed, turned on a lamp, and walked barefoot to the window

Is it online? Has it suddenly become popular? She hasn't touched that game called "Chasing Immortals" for a whole month.

Na Lan woke up with a start from her dream and glanced at the watch on the bedside table; it was only 5:00 AM.

Na Lan? I am Na Shun, are you there or not? Please answer the phone!

A loud bang sounded.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone: "Alright, remember to log in and help me level up when you return, otherwise be careful that I will tell Mom and Dad about your late-night outings! Also, remember to pay attention to your safety when you go out. Goodbye."

Despite feeling grateful, she lay motionless on the bed as the phone rang continuously for a while before switching to the answering machine

She swung the baseball bat and struck the game pod furiously until she was utterly exhausted and collapsed on the ground, yet the game pod remained unscathed. She had initially considered throwing the game pod from the nineteenth floor of her residence, but fearing that it might hit a passerby and land her in jail, and lacking the immense strength of a legendary warrior, she ultimately decided against it

Really, are you no longer planning to play?
