Although the Chicheng Immortal Sect is one of the seven major sword sects in the Southern Chan Region, its number of members is not large. Apart from the founding ancestor Zhu Shang, there are only twenty-four direct disciples from the generation of Duan Gui. Duan Gui ranks sixteenth under the Chicheng ancestor Zhu Shang, being the most dull-witted among his fellow disciples and the least favored by his master. Zhu Shang was even too lazy to forge a flying sword for him, merely bestowing upon him a low-quality flying sword snatched from a disciple of an evil sect.

Duan Gui, being a child of a concubine and having lost his mother at an early age, faced considerable exclusion from his clan. Furthermore, due to his youthful arrogance, he caused a significant disaster, leading to a deep rift with several brothers. It was only then that Duan Xuanye sent him to the Chicheng Xianpai to learn the arts, not expecting much from him, but merely seeking peace of mind by keeping him out of sight. It was through this opportunity that Duan Gui qualified to join the Chicheng sect. Therefore, whether he succeeded or not was of little concern to Zhu Shang; otherwise, this elder of Chicheng would not have taken on a disciple with such limited aptitude for cultivation.

The Sword Immortal lineage is a path established by ancient cultivation practices, representing the most ancient branch among the four schools of Qi, Talismans, Artifacts, and Souls. It upholds the true teachings of ancient Qi refiners, and has long been regarded as the legitimate and orthodox sect of the ancient era. Consequently, the Sword Immortal lineage has historically looked down upon other cultivation methods, considering even the talisman practitioners, who also originate from the ancient Qi refiners, as separate transmissions outside the main lineage, unwilling to regard them as equals. As for Artifact cultivators and Soul practitioners, they are outright deemed as heterodox paths.

This short-lived ghost, why choose such a desolate corner where even rabbits don't defecate? I find it so difficult to ask someone to take me away!

In just these two initial steps, as long as one perseveres, there will eventually be a day of achievement. Although Duan Gui's aptitude is mediocre, his diligence in cultivation has allowed his true energy to fill three hundred sixty-five acupoints. The purity and richness of his cultivation in the Red City True Qi is unparalleled and exceptionally robust, not inferior to any of his peers.

In other words, Bai Sheng unexpectedly traversed from a fantasy martial arts game to a real fantasy martial arts world

Duan Gui is the third son of Duan Xuanye, the Grand General of the Huaxu Kingdom. His ability to become a disciple under Chicheng has a rather convoluted story behind it

Upon contemplating this damned issue, Bai Sheng momentarily fell into a daze

However, in terms of sensing, it is not solely due to extraordinary talent or chance that one can easily overcome the challenges

If you have traveled through time, just clap your hands! If you have traveled through time, just stomp your feet! If you have traveled through time, just give it a little tug, have a little fun, and if you have traveled through time, just accept your fate...

At that time, Zhu Shang said: "By the time you practice to the point of being able to fly with a sword, who knows how many years it will take. Although this sword is of poor quality, it is sufficient for you to practice the swordsmanship of this school."

A research institution in Europe once conducted a survey which indicated that when individuals suddenly find themselves in an unfamiliar environment, such as a deserted park at night, a remote wilderness, or an abandoned factory, approximately 13.9% of them choose to sing to bolster their courage. Moreover, the songs they select are often not the usual tracks they would typically sing at karaoke.

The world of Jambudvipa consists of four continents: namely, the Eastern Continent of Chenshen, the Southern Continent of Chanchu, the Western Continent of Niuhua, and the Northern Continent of Luosi

This song of transcendence is so powerful that after Bai Sheng heard it once, he could never forget it. Now, singing it feels quite fitting for the occasion. With such a heart-stirring song marking the end of his previous life as a scholar, Bai Sheng decisively patted the worn blue robe on his body, accepting his new identity, as there was really no other choice, was there?

The initial vital energy, jumping within the dantian, resembles that of an infant, and is referred to as fetal movement. As long as one possesses decent aptitude, sincerity, and has received authentic direct transmission, one can achieve mastery in about a year and a half.

By utilizing the nascent true energy to open the twelve regular meridians and the eight extraordinary vessels, and to circulate through the body's acupoints, filling the three hundred sixty-five acupoints throughout the body with abundant true energy, one is said to have entered the acupoints. This step also requires diligent effort; those with poor aptitude may take ten to eight years, while those with good aptitude may achieve it in three to five years. The perfection of refining energy and entering the acupoints is considered peak among martial artists in the mortal realm, yet it is merely the beginning on the path of immortality.

Duan Gui has been under the tutelage of the Red City Ancestor, Zhu Shang, for nearly twenty years, and has been practicing the Red City Heart Method for almost the same duration. However, his cultivation has remained stuck at the threshold of entering the realm, unable to cross into the level of perception. Without the ability to sense the fluctuations of the primordial energy between heaven and earth, he cannot resonate with the spirit of the flying sword, making it impossible to manipulate the sword or control magical tools from a distance of a hundred steps. In any sect on the Southern Chan Continent that primarily focuses on the cultivation of flying swords, it is considered extremely embarrassing for a disciple to have spent twenty years in arduous practice without being able to refine qi and control the sword.

Bai Sheng could not recall where he had heard this rather bizarre tune. He only remembered that in the video of this song, there was a lewd man who called himself "Half a Frog," completely naked, wearing a pair of white women's thong underwear printed with "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf." With a voice akin to a wolf's howl, he sang this crossing-over song with great passion, as if he were hiring a sex worker for oral services, insisting on sprinkling a handful of cumin on his little brother, showcasing his uniqueness.

Regardless of the sect or school, and despite the numerous differences in their heart methods, all are divided into nine major realms on the Southern Ch'an Continent: they are胎动 (Fetal Movement), 入窍 (Entering the Aperture), 感应 (Induction), 凝煞 (Condensing the Evil), 炼罡 (Refining the Essence), 丹成 (Completion of the Elixir), 道基 (Foundation of the Dao), 脱劫 (Transcending Tribulations), and 温养 (Nurturing). Once the Golden Elixir is formed, longevity can be anticipated; with the foundation of the Dao established, the gates to immortality are wide open; after passing the Nine Transformations of the Heart Tribulation, one can barely be considered a half-immortal; nurturing the celestial energy and refining the primordial fetus leads to ascension to the heavenly realm, where one can comprehend the techniques of the primordial spirit. As for what lies beyond the primordial spirit, it is the true mystical methods of immortals, ethereal and ineffable, no longer something that mortal cultivators can covet; only the immortals above the Nine Heavens can comprehend it.

What made Bai Sheng feel sorrowful was that, despite his loud singing and shouting, no one paid him any attention. The disciple of the Chicheng Immortal Sect named Duan Gui had chosen a cultivation location that was too remote; even if he shouted until his throat was hoarse, no one would know that he was trapped here

Duan Gui was aware that his aptitude was lacking, yet he diligently devoted himself to cultivation, spending nearly all his time on it. This time, Duan Gui aimed to forcibly break through the long-stagnant first realm. However, during his cultivation, something went awry, leading him to go astray and lose his soul, resulting in a tragic end to his life filled with regrets. Yet, by a twist of fate, he was reborn through the possession of Bai Sheng who had crossed over.

The Chicheng Immortal Sect, along with several other orthodox sects, serves as a crucial force supporting the Huaxu Kingdom in resisting the Six Nations of the Southern Region and the Demon Clan of the Northern Sea. Therefore, they often accept the scions of the nobility from the Huaxu Kingdom as disciples. However, these individuals are destined to serve the court, which often prevents them from dedicating themselves to deep cultivation. Instead, they acquire remarkable martial skills and some methods for overcoming enemies, only to leave their sects and join the military to lead troops into battle

Bai Sheng traversed to a place called the Yanfu Ti world, where he became a disciple of the Chicheng Xianpai named Duan Gui
