Chapter 3, Awakening.

The singing of Lady Dugong awakened the other two maidservants in the room. These two were Lady Dugong's personal attendants. For more than ten days, Lady Dugong had been staying in her son's room, unwilling to let anyone else take over the vigil. Thus, these two maidservants could only accompany Lady Dugong in the eldest son's chamber

Yang Tian had indeed worked as an insurance salesman for several years, and his nerves had become incredibly resilient. Once he settled down, he began to survey his surroundings. It appeared that this household was quite affluent, with silk garments draped over the body, exquisite porcelain on the table, and a complete set of mahogany furniture. Regardless of the dynasty, these were items that only a wealthy family could afford.

Xu Yinzong took Yang Tian's arm again. This time, Yang Tian did not evade. He watched as this somewhat ethereal person placed his fingers on the pulse point, thinking to himself that this might be the method of pulse diagnosis for treating illness

Although Yang Tian could understand, he did not know how to speak and was unaware of why he was in this residence. If the beautiful young woman before him were to realize that he was not her son, he could only imagine how she would react. Yang Tian had noticed that the woman was still carrying a dagger, and if she, overwhelmed by the pain of losing her child, were to stab him, it would be an unjust fate akin to that of a tragic tale. Thus, he could only shake his head in a hesitant manner.

The two maidservants were startled and exclaimed, "The young master has awakened, the young master has awakened"

Yang Tian was taken aback and quickly reached out to push the woman, saying: "Wake up, wake up, where is this?"

Yang Tian suddenly screamed, for he had clearly seen his own hand, delicate and tender, which resembled not that of an adult, but distinctly that of a child

He turned his head to look outside, and a woman was sleeping soundly beside him. Yang Tian couldn't help but smile slightly; Luo Qian was truly a remarkable girl, having always stayed by his side.

Yang Tian's actions left the Dugu clan member perplexed: "What is wrong with you, why do you seem unwell?"

Yang Tian was embraced by the Dugu woman in the cup, feeling an indescribable awkwardness. His age might even be greater than that of the young married woman before him, yet she treated him as her son. As he looked at his own small arms, Yang Tian was overwhelmed by an absurd thought: Am I dreaming, or have I truly returned to another place

The woman was not in a deep sleep, and when Yang Tian pushed her, she was startled awake. Upon seeing Yang Tian awake, she was overjoyed: "Thank heavens, thank the earth, you have finally woken up."

Dugu Shi finally released her son, allowing Yang Tian to lie down again. Seeing her son's eyes wide open with a look of terror, she quickly comforted him, speaking softly: "Don't be afraid, this divine doctor possesses remarkable medical skills; let him take another look at you"

Two maidservants rubbed their eyes and saw the lady holding the eldest son, humming a tune while shedding tears, while the eldest son had his eyes rolling, revealing a look of confusion

Yang Tianyi called out, startling the woman. She hurriedly approached Yang Tian and softly said, "Don't be afraid, your mother is right beside you."

Only when he raised his eyes did they suddenly widen even more. This bed was actually made of mahogany, and the headboard was intricately carved with various flying birds and running beasts. He hurriedly looked outside; directly opposite the bed was a window made of wooden lattice, which was sealed with thick paper. At that moment, the window was tightly closed. On the wall beside the window hung a longbow, and next to the bow was a sheathed longsword. On the other side of the sword were several pieces of animal pelts, which, judging by the patterns, were clearly tiger and bear skins. Dugu was taken aback and quickly turned to Xu Yinzong: "Divine Doctor Xu, please treat my son at once"

Xu Yinzong reached out to take Yang Tian's hand to check his pulse, but Yang Tian quickly withdrew it. He finally confirmed in his heart that the term "Xian Di Fa" that the woman had been calling out referred to him. Could it be that he truly was the son of this woman before him? He raised his hand and touched his face several times; his skin was delicate and tender. He then glanced at his legs, feeling the length of his thighs, and finally confirmed that he had indeed transformed into a child of around ten years old.

Yang Tian avoided her embrace, curling up on the bed. He had come to regard the woman's appearance with indifference. She was a beautiful young woman, seemingly no more than twenty-four or twenty-five years old. She had just spoken in a northern dialect, which Yang Tian could barely understand, leaving him even more confused. Who is Xuan Di Fa? Why does the name sound so strange? Is this woman the mother of Xuan Di Fa?

Before long, the news of the eldest son's awakening spread throughout the Duke's residence, bringing joy to the household. For the past few days, the eldest son had remained in a deep coma, and the Duke's temper had grown increasingly irritable. The servants of the Duke's residence dared not even breathe loudly, fearing they might provoke the Duke and suffer severe punishment.

Now it is finally better, the eldest son has awakened, and the Duke's residence will soon return to normal. If it were not for the decree issued by the Emperor Wu years ago to eradicate Buddhism and Daoism, forcing monks and priests to return home, the servants of the Duke's residence would certainly have gone to temples or Daoist monasteries to burn incense and pray. However, many still directly clasp their hands together in the residence, silently reciting: "Thank you to all the deities and bodhisattvas for your blessings, may the eldest son be a person of good fortune and may he be safe and sound."

The news of Yang Tian waking up was immediately conveyed to Xu Yinzong, who was overjoyed and hurriedly brought his medicine box to Yang Yong's room. Upon seeing that Dugu was still holding her son, he quickly said: "Madam, may I trouble you to allow this old man to examine him?"

The space on the bed was narrow, yet Yang Tian could not escape the embrace of the Dugu clan. Dugu's eyes were filled with bloodshot veins, having not slept well for over ten days. Now that his son was awake, the joy in his heart instantly overshadowed everything else, as he held Yang Tian and gently began to hum a song

Yang Tian gently opened his eyes, his mind a blur. He shook his head and finally recalled the incident of drinking with colleagues, and how he had encountered a car accident right after leaving the hotel. It turned out that he was not dead yet. A surge of joy welled up in Yang Tian's heart. I knew that the heavens would not take me so easily. I had just come into some money and gained a girlfriend; to die just like that would be too cruel of the heavens.

Yang Tianshen let out a sigh, wondering where he was. Could it be that he had ended up in the home of a poacher, one who had a penchant for antiquity? He quickly turned his gaze to the woman lying by the bed, already suspecting that this woman was not Luo Qian. Indeed, upon seeing the woman's hairstyle and attire, he realized something was amiss. Although she was lying on the bed, her hair was styled high, clearly visible, and she was wearing a silk garment, which was certainly not of a later style.

Dugu saw that her son did not allow her to hold him, and she thought it was due to her usual lack of care, which made her son distant towards her. A sense of guilt surged within her: "Come, let me take a good look at you, dear. It's good that you are awake. You have been in a deep sleep for more than ten days, almost giving your mother a scare."
